Java and Jammy got their first haircuts. They are now ready for another exciting first next weekend👀
And Aiden set the first post of our permanent fence! As much as we love the flexibility of the electric net, after a breakout on Easter we are ready for fence that does not get upset when it rains.

ROOM-TO-GROW HAV-J JAVA is the daughter of VEVV89 ROOM-TO-GROW H-SIAM HAVANA. We are so excited to see that topline!
ROOM-TO-GROW BRULEE-J JAMBOREE's dam is VEEG84 ROOM-TO-GROW CHARL-BN BRULEE. Jammy's dam is a top Milk producer in her herd, and we are looking forward to seeing how her udder develops.

We are hoping to hit a few more fairs and shows this year than we have in the past, and excited for Jammy and Java to tag along!

We had agreed that because this year my does were bred to my mom's Boer buck that none of the babies would be staying... but bottle babies love to throw a wrench in those plans. Mini Marshmallow is half Saanen, half Boer. She has one wattle, frostbitten ear tips, and a frostbitten hoof that is starting to grow hair back. As the only surviving one of our 2026 kids, even though she doesn't fit the direction the herd is going, I think she will be around for a while. With all that being said, Aiden has been intrigued by the idea of a pack goat to hike and camp with, so she went on her first hike today and did great!

I have seen more baby goats in my life than I can count, but it feels a little different on my own farm. We are excited to welcome triplets (2 does, 1 buck) born to Mollie today!

The goats may celebrate a little late, but they are still kids on Christmas morning when they get to eat the tree.

The oldest goat on our farm is Gardenia, who lovingly goes by Deeny most of the time. She will be 7 in January but was my 4-H goat from the time she was 8 weeks old (I have dug up her baby picture from before I bought her for your viewing pleasure). Although I think she is now retired from the show ring, Deeny and I won many ribbons together, notably Best of Show at the Charles County Fair in 2022. Deeny was always the best showmanship animal I had, and somehow she came trained to set her feet. She is most likely currently bred to a black dapple Boer buck, so we are excited for babies in the spring!
