We are two Marines with 13 years of combined service who have a loving taste for craft beer and our beloved military. Together we had a dream to open a brewery and make excellent beer, while providing a military friendly environment. Making hand crafted genuine, taste-bud approved beer with ingredients derived from the local hop and malt/grain growers in the state of Washington is our goal. Our ta
proom will be themed in a military friendly way, in hopes to bring Veterans in to meet others they didn’t know lived in the area. Us military folk often have a hard time trying to relate to people after we transition back to the real world. Knife Hand will provide a place to bring together and strengthen our Veteran community. So, whether you’re a Soldier, Sailor, Marine or Airmen; active duty or a Veteran, our place is for you. Well, we'll tell you. The Knife Hand is a respected and feared hand gesture known professionally by the U.S. Marines and less commonly, the U.S. The Knife Hand is recognized most commonly by the well-known and current Secretary of State Ret. "Mad Dog" Mattis. But it wasn't embodied into the Marine Corps by him. No, in fact it was one of the primary tools used by Marine Drill Instructors. Mattis is every Marines Fairing God in the Devil Dog realm. So naturally his rare usage of the Knife Hand became a staple. It was assumed that when he was addressing someone and his knife-hand was presented, they were in trouble. But 9 times out of 10 it meant that what he was about to say, was either really important or really motivating. When and Where? Our projected grand opening will be on the Marine Corps Birthday through to Veterans’ Day. The two day event will occur form November 10 - 11, 2019 at our future location in the Lacey/DuPont area of Washington. Mission:
Our mission is to provide a variety of outstanding, hand-crafted beverages to a wide customer base of local beer enthusiasts as well as visitors from outside the area. We will maintain efficient sustainability by promoting and utilizing green energy and waste disposal procedures, buying locally grown ingredients, and maintaining U.S. veteran ownership and operation. By committing to these standards we will fall within the highest keeping of craft beer traditions. What to do in the mean time? Watch as we grow and build into a unique craft brewery!
