🎨✨ At the heart of downtown Lake Charles, Historic City Hall stands as more than a landmark. It is a living space where art, culture, and community meet. ✨🎨

Built in 1911, the building has witnessed over a century of local stories, from serving as the city’s hub of government to weathering fires and storms. Its striking clock tower, terracotta details, and red-brick facade give it a timeless character that continues to draw people in. Today, Historic City Hall honors that history while opening its doors wide to the present.

Inside, visitors discover rotating art exhibitions from local and international artists, cultural events that spark curiosity, and spaces where families, young professionals, and creatives can connect. Whether it is a gallery opening, a hands on workshop, or simply a stroll through the building, every experience at Historic City Hall is designed to inspire, educate, and create lasting memories.

Our mission is to enrich Lake Charles through the arts by making world class culture accessible while celebrating local voices. We are not just a building filled with art. We are a gathering place, a spark for creativity, and a reminder that art belongs to everyone.

Historic City Hall is where the past and present meet and where our community’s future in the arts continues to grow. Admission is always free, and we invite you to step inside and see what is waiting for you.

Some people come into your life and leave a lasting imprint—and then there are those who grow with you, shape you, and stand beside you through every season. My dear childhood friend, Heather Huling, is one of those rare and treasured souls.

As I reflect on this journey to becoming a published author, I know without a doubt that this accomplishment would not be what it is without her. From the earliest stages—when this book was just a quiet dream—Heather believed in it, and in me. She encouraged me, gently but persistently, to take the leap and see it through.

Her contributions go far beyond encouragement. Heather graciously shared some of her own recipes, adding depth, flavor, and heart to these pages. She spent countless hours proofreading, testing recipes, and offering thoughtful, honest critiques that strengthened this work in ways I could not have achieved alone. Her attention to detail, sincerity, and willingness to invest her time made all the difference.

This book carries her fingerprints within its pages, and I am deeply grateful for her role in bringing it to life. Our shared Louisiana roots run deep, along with our love for Cajun cuisine and culture—something beautifully woven throughout this project.

Heather, thank you for your belief, your honesty, your generosity, and your unwavering friendship. This journey is richer because of you, and this accomplishment is truly shared.

Louisiana's crawfish industry adds an estimated whopping $300 million to our state's economy annually, with approximately 120 million pounds of crawfish caught and boiled each year. As we continue to celebrate crawfish season, let's all take a moment to thank our great Louisiana crawfish farmers, who bring us delicious meals, culture and community spirit year after year!
