The bottles and caps are all in! I did inventory last night and we are starting to get all of our necessary supplies to bring the syrup to everyone’s tables!

We are hoping to have the filtering machine here and ready to use in a few weeks!

We will be working on getting our labels in order these coming weeks so everything can be ready when the filtering unit arrives.

We plan on selling directly to our followers as a first come, first serve base. Since we only have so much stock!

However, if we have extra syrup, we plan on selling at local farmers markets! And I’ve been trying to come up with some flavorful maple ideas to add to the table.

Our ideas for the table looks a lot like this:
- Maple syrup, of course!
- Soft maple creamy candies 🍬
- Hard maple candies/suckers 🍭
- Maple kettle corn 🍿
- Maple roasted nuts
- Maple cotton candy
And hopefully some other sweet maple treats!

We’re not here to just sell maple syrup! Our dream is to deliver different ways to experience our maple syrup!

We can’t wait for you to enjoy it!

🍁 A little update 🍁

Balancing a full-time job while building our Sugarshack from the ground up means things take time—but we’re doing everything we can to do it right.

We’ve just placed the order for bottles and are hoping to start packaging by May!

Last year was a huge learning experience, and we decided to invest in better equipment this year (including a new filtering system) to make the process smoother and less stressful for us.

It might take a little longer now, but it means next season we’ll be able to get syrup out even faster and more efficiently. Next year we plan to produce WAY more syrup and also test out some great flavor combinations!

We appreciate everyone’s patience and support while we grow and we’re so looking forward to bringing you some delicious syrup!

The last of our sap went in last night! Time to finish up the season!

Stove is hot! Currently we are pulling taps and about ready to get the last of our sap in the pan tonight!

Warmer nights and warmer days are finally on the forecast! Our trees are starting to slow right down. This week will be our smallest and final boil of the season!

We batched all of our syrup into bulk storage temporarily so that we can get the right equipment and the perfect bottles for our syrup. With a tight budget we did not want to overshoot it. Stay tuned for that process these coming weeks! We can’t wait to bring it to everyone’s tables.

Also check out this sweet lean-to my dad, Mike Dudek quickly set up for us to help keep more heat in! We’ve been boiling great all day.

Last week we made over 10 gallons of syrup! We can’t wait to bring it to everyone’s tables!

This weeks boil is in process and we have one more week of sap collecting before the season is complete!

It’s been nice having extra hands (the parents) helping out do buckets for me while I watch the stove. 🤗

When I said we boil through the night, 24 hrs a day until it’s done…

I meant it!

The smell of the maple and the warmth of the fire keep me awake! 🍁

The rain is finally starting to die down as we boil our second batch of sap.

We estimate to have around 400 gallons of sap this time and are hoping for a decent amount of syrup!

How much do you think we’ll get?

We are so thankful that the little ice storm in Missaukee didn’t affect any of our trees, even though it halted some of our sap flow.

Stay tuned for more boil updates!
