💛 To Our Faith Farms Family – Especially Our Lake City Customers 💛
First and foremost, I want to sincerely apologize for the delay in getting eggs to you. I know many of you have been patiently waiting, and I truly appreciate your understanding.
A lot has happened here at the farm, and I wanted to explain why.
Last week, our flock was hit by not one, but two predator attacks. We lost nearly 50 chickens, and another 30 birds are still recovering from the trauma. Because of the stress they’ve endured, many of those hens have stopped laying eggs for now.
On top of that, this extreme Florida heat has significantly reduced egg production across the farm. While we’re doing everything we can to keep our flock comfortable and healthy, the heat has taken its toll.
The hardest part has been deciding how to handle the shortage. I simply couldn’t bring myself to choose which customers would receive eggs and which wouldn’t. That’s not how I operate, and it’s not how I want to serve our community.
To help get production back on track, I’m now collecting eggs three times a day. It’s exhausting in this heat and I get very overheated but my goal is to have enough eggs to deliver to everyone this Friday.
Please bear with me during this difficult time. Faith Farms is a small family farm, and every egg we produce comes from hens that are loved and cared for. My commitment has always been to provide each of you with fresh, nutritious, high-quality eggs, and that hasn’t changed.
Thank you for your patience, your grace, and your continued support through the good days and the challenging ones. It truly means more than you know.
With heartfelt gratitude,
❤️ Lissie
