I grew up on a dairy farm. My 3 sisters and I milked cows twice a day, 365 days a year and we all drank the milk-RAW! No one ever got sick, 4 generations of dairy farmers.

With today’s modern, closed pipeline system, the chance for contamination is so slim. Plus every tank full of milk is tested for bacteria before they will even take it. If it doesn’t pass they dont take your milk. We never had that happen.

People need to realize the dairy lobby for the large processing plants are who made you afraid of raw milk. The milk hauler, the processing plant and the distributors make most of the money off a gallon of milk. The farmer and the grocery store make the least.

What world do we live in where raw milk is illegal yet ma*****na and alcohol are legal. No one will force you to drink raw milk.

Sorry for the long post, but this is something I have direct experience with and am very passionate about :)

A Michigan House committee signed off Thursday on a bill package that would amend the state’s ban on raw milk sales, allowing farmers to sell directly to consumers.

Michigan friends who care about real food and small farmers — we’re at an important moment. Several bills have been introduced in Lansing (HB 5217, HB 5218, HB 5219) that would finally allow the legal on-farm sale of raw milk and raw milk products in our state.

This matters for anyone who believes in transparent food systems, supporting local farms, and having the freedom to choose nutrient-dense foods directly from the people who produce them.

If you support this kind of commonsense food freedom, now is the time to reach out. A quick call or email to your State Representative can make a real difference when these bills come to the floor for a vote.

💬 Simply ask them to vote YES on HB 5217, HB 5218, and HB 5219.
📣 Your voice helps strengthen Michigan’s local food economy and keeps more of your food dollars in the hands of small farms.

Let’s continue building a thriving, resilient local food system together.

Looking for locally-raised beef, chicken, lamb and more? Look no further than Silver Lining Farms in Ortonville, MI — proudly run by Farmer Beth Wojo.

As someone who grew up on a dairy farm, I know firsthand the long days, the physical work, the care, and the heart it takes to raise healthy animals. Seeing a single female farmer running an entire operation on her own? That deserves some serious respect. Beth is out there doing the hard work every single day, and I give mad props to her for it.

If you want to support a truly local food system, reduce reliance on corporate-controlled supply chains, and put your dollars directly into the hands of the farmers who feed our community, this is the way to do it. Buying local isn’t just a trend — it’s a powerful choice that keeps small farms alive.

“The currency of truth is the relationship of trust.” A great interview with
Catherine Austin Fitts, former Under Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Fitts discusses food security in the United States with Breeauna Sagdal, Senior Policy Fellow of the Beef Initiative's Foundation.

During the discussion, Fitts urges private investors to begin financing and building relationships with their nearest farmers and ranchers in order to maintain health, and mental clarity during the ongoing “war” on freedom.

“It's not just purchase and finance the capacity you need. It's more than that, “ Fitts said. “You need be part of funding and organizing political efforts designed to protect your food supply. You need to do all these things, because this is war, and if you want to win you need to be healthy.”

The war that Fitts refers to is neither kinetic, nor overtly seen. Rather, the effects of this silent war are felt and experienced through increased surveillance and a general sense that things are not okay—especially in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
