This is a rant. North American Moving Experts LLC is a scam. I dealt with Anthony S. I was given a price for my upcoming move - after doing an inventory - which I originally turned down for being too expensive. Anthony told me they marked it down wrong and would adjust the price. He sent me the new price and I agreed. Made the deposit, signed the contract, etc… I called a week ago and said just on the outside chance I have double the boxes, what will by price increase be? The rep told me it would be about 500 dollars. I didn’t love that, but I knew I wasn’t going to double it, so I would be ok. 3 days before the move, they call to finalize everything. We went over the inventory again. I removed a TON of stuff we decided not to bring with us. Including a bookshelf, lawnmower, some art pieces, a dresser, 2 box springs, etc. I updated my box count, which was more by count, but NOT by allotted cubic footage - which is what I was told mattered. They increased my price by a total of $907. I told them no deal, cancel it. They said that because I cancelled less than 72 hours before the move I was not entitled to a refund. A fact which was not mentioned to me during booking. I asked how the policy could be that they do the finalization and price adjustment 3 days before the move, but I can’t cancel and get a refund after they change the price? She said they do the finalization 3 days ahead because people don’t know how many boxes they have. Sure. That was the case with me, so why not? Then I asked why that coincided with the deadline for refund, to which I was told I had to speak to a manager who of course was unavailable. That to me is the definition of shady. Do not EVER USE THEM. Now I’m out almost 1200 dollars because of their crooked policy.
