Thinking to be a content creator 😆😆 This was the only clip I managed to get for you guys. Pure chaos and hectic in the kitchen from start to finish. Saxophone is getting louder fr.

I swear I look like dirt after baking, covered in flour, exhausted, running on little to no sleep. Dirt and tired. 😂 No cozy vibe here. You are in the wrong channel.

Thank you so much for all your support today. You guys absolutely blew my mind.

This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I’ve come here and ended up with a massive line, but this time I was finally able to feed the whole lineeeee and made everyone happy. Thanks to having some extra help from my helper PC . We started baking at 10 PM last night, baked through the morning and hauled everything here. It is grinding but I win myself today❤️

My heart is so full because not only were we able to serve everyone in line but we also had enough to share some treats with the Caphin Minneapolis team as well(finally). ❤️ also her lemongrass peach tea is insannnnnnne good you must try! It is influences from her Vietnamese culture.

We’ll be back in the next couple of weeks, and we’re thinking about releasing some savory rolls. 😀

Something fun and a little insane as usual.

See you guys soon!

I’m a total sucker for corn even though my stomach doesn’t always agree with it. 😆

Corn milk is inspired by one of my favorite childhood drinks. Across Southeast Asia, sweet corn is often blended into creamy beverages and desserts rather than treating it as a savory ingredient.

I call this flavor Korean Corn Milk because Korea is well known for its corn milk drinks but this tradition is loved throughout Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, the Philippines, Indonesia, and many other countries as well.

This roll features fresh corn milk cream cheese frosting, traditional Thai coconut corn cream filling, a hot candy-like cinnamon swirl, and an American-style cornbread crumble on top.

A lot of cultures and techniques come together in this one roll and it’s easily one of my favorites. 🌽✨

Why tangerine?

The first time I cooked rhubarb, its texture reminded me of stewed tangerines and oranges. Rhubarb itself doesn’t have a strong flavor—just a bright, tart profile so I started wondering: what if I treated rhubarb like a tangerine?

That idea became Tangerine Rhubarb.

One thing I’ve learned is that many Asians including myself growing up we don’t really eat rhubarb. 😆 So I wanted to pair its bright citrus-tart character with something rich, nutty, and comforting but could carry a lot of sweetness. Black sesame was the perfect match.

Not only does black sesame pair beautifully with tart fruit, but it also connects to my Chinese heritage. I was born into a Thai-Chinese family, and both of my grandfathers immigrated from China to Thailand. Black sesame has always been a familiar ingredient in our family, appearing in desserts, snacks, and traditional recipes.

This roll is where those influences meet: Chinese-inspired black sesame paired with a beloved Midwestern ingredient, rhubarb.

Inside the roll is a cardamom, layered with tangerine rhubarb jam on top. It’s finished with black sesame cream cheese buttercream and topped with tangerine rhubarb compote.

A blend of Chinese roots and Midwestern American flavors—all in one roll.

I can’t stop talking about this flavor: Chè Thái.

This flavor was featured in my Vietnamese customer giveaway. At first, I didn’t know what it was, so I did some research. I learned that Chè Thái is a Vietnamese summer dessert drink, influenced by the Thai dessert called tub tim krob—made with water chestnuts coated in tapioca flour and served in sweet coconut milk.

It also has influences from Chinese cuisine as well.

I chose this flavor because it’s rooted in Southeast Asian culture. In Laos and Hmong communities, a similar drink is called nam van, although it usually has fewer fruits compared to Chè Thái.

This dessert is packed with tropical fruits like jackfruit, longan, palm sugar, and pandan jelly. I didn't add water chestnut in.

It’s the lightest flavor among all my creations. If you like my pandan coconut, you’ll probably like this too. It’s mild, aromatic, and lightly sweet. Good for breakfast not very heavy. 📸 Melanie Jade Featherstone Featherstone Food and Product

Strawberry Soursop

This flavor is very personal to me. Soursop is my mom’s favorite fruit, and it’s something I grew up eating since I was a kid. It has a unique taste like a mix of strawberry, banana smoothie, and even a hint of passion fruit with soft floral notes.

Growing up in southern Thailand, strawberries were hard to find since they only grow in the cooler northern regions. So fruits like soursop became my “strawberry like” memory from home.

This roll is my way of bringing two worlds together. Those familiar strawberry-inspired flavors I first discovered through “foreign” fruits, and the tropical fruits I actually grew up with.

It’s rolled with a warm, candy-like cinnamon swirl for that nostalgic American strawberry cinnamon roll feeling. Then it’s topped with soursop, the queen of this flavor profile, to bring everything together—bright strawberry-like notes, soft floral aroma, and a smooth tropical finish in every bite.

Fresh soursop can sometimes be found at places like Mo’ Tropical, and when it’s perfectly ripe, the sweetness, juiciness, and aroma are honestly unforgettable.
