Collecting up her Alpaca "gold" to bag up and sell 🥰

Alpaca manure might not be glamorous, but it’s a gardener’s dream 🌱

Often called “alpaca gold,” these little beans are packed with benefits. Unlike many other types of manure, alpaca manure is low in odor, easy to handle, and doesn’t need to be composted before using—so you can spread it directly in your garden without worrying about burning your plants.

Another bonus? It has very low w**d seed content compared to other manures, so you’re not accidentally planting w**ds along with your flowers and veggies.

It’s naturally rich in nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium—everything your soil needs to stay healthy and productive. Plus, it improves soil structure, helps retain moisture, and supports beneficial microbes, making it perfect for gardens, flower beds, and even houseplants.

Sustainable, natural, and straight from the source—your plants will thank you 🌿

Think alpaca poo is just for gardens? Think again—your lawn will love it too 🌱

Benefits for your lawn:
• Provides slow-release nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) for steady, healthy growth
• Improves soil structure, helping roots grow deeper and stronger
• Helps soil retain moisture, meaning less watering
• Supports beneficial microbes for healthier soil overall
• Low w**d seed content, so you’re not adding unwanted w**ds

A simple, natural way to get a greener, thicker lawn—without the harsh chemicals 🌿

Thank you so much to the person that is purchasing 10 bags from her this week!!! 🥰😍💚

🦙✨ DID YOU KNOW… Alpacas come in 22 officially recognized natural colors?!

From true black to bright white — and all the browns, fawns, grays, and roans in between — alpacas have one of the widest natural color ranges of any fiber-producing animal.

Unlike many other livestock, these colors are completely natural — not dyed! That means breeders carefully select genetics to produce specific shades.

But from our - did you know yesterday - because alpaca fiber doesn’t contain lanolin (unlike sheep’s wool), it takes dye exceptionally well. The result? Rich, vibrant colors — from soft pastels to bold jewel tones.

So whether you love natural earth tones or bright pops of color, alpaca fiber can do both 🧶✨

And here’s something even more fun… alpacas can actually change color as they age! Some lighten, some darken, and some develop silvering or roaning over time. That cria you fall in love with may not look exactly the same as an adult 👀

Natural color. Beautiful dye potential. A little surprise along the way.

What’s your favorite alpaca color? 🤎🖤🤍

And with our current herd we have 8 of the 22 💚

Medium Brown
White
Light silver grey
Medium silver grey
Beige
Light fawn
Bay black

🦙 Did You Know… Alpaca Fiber Is One of the Most Unique Natural Fibers in the World?

Alpaca fiber isn’t actually wool — it’s hair. And it’s very different from sheep’s wool!

✨ No lanolin – Alpaca fiber doesn’t contain lanolin (the oil found in sheep’s wool). That’s why many people who are sensitive to wool find alpaca much less itchy and easier to wear.

✨ Hollow core fibers – Many alpaca fibers have a partially hollow structure. This helps trap heat in cold weather while still allowing breathability — which means alpaca keeps you warm without feeling heavy or sweaty.

✨ Warmer than wool – Ounce for ounce, alpaca fiber can be warmer than sheep’s wool because of that hollow structure.

✨ Incredibly strong – Alpaca fiber is durable and naturally water-resistant, yet it’s softer and smoother than many other livestock fibers.

And the best part? Alpacas are shorn once a year, which keeps them comfortable and gives us beautiful fiber to work with.

Have you ever felt alpaca fiber in person? It’s something you really have to touch to understand 💛

Here are a few pictures of before and after shearing, pile of fiber we got from that alpaca, the yarn we have made, dying we have done, and a couple projects we have done with our fiber!

🦙 Did You Know… Alpacas Have an Alarm Call?

Alpacas are prey animals, so they’re naturally wired to spot danger fast. When one sees something suspicious — a stray dog, a coyote, a sudden movement, or even something as simple as a plastic bag blowing through the yard — they sound the alert.

And when one calls, the whole herd reacts.
Heads shoot up.
Ears lock forward.
Bodies bunch together.
Eyes fix on the “threat.”
They rely on herd awareness — one watchful alpaca helps protect them all.

Here at TriEaster Alpacas, we sometimes joke about our security team (Sonny, it's always Sonny 😂) he takes their job very seriously... Whether it’s a real concern or just a new hat on a familiar human, hes always on duty. And honestly, we love that about him, it’s instinct, intelligence, and teamwork all wrapped up in one fluffy package. And keeps us on our toes about predators.

Have you ever heard an alpaca alarm call before? Or would it surprise you how loud they can be? 👀

Here is a video of Sonny sounding his alarm. Here he was sounding the alarm at our pigs for some reason.

🦙 Did You Know?

Alpacas hum to communicate!

They hum when they’re curious, content, worried, or talking to their babies. Each hum can mean something slightly different depending on tone and body language.

Have you ever heard an alpaca hum before? 🎶
We love hearing their soft hums!

In this video you can hear a lot of humming 🥰
