It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Stephen “Steve” Beal.

Steve was our Panel Chair at the International Whisky Competition, a mentor, and a world-class judge whose knowledge, generosity, and extraordinary palate helped shape the whisky world.

A Sr. Master of Whisky, Keeper of the Quaich, Chairman Emeritus of the Council of Whiskey Masters, former Diageo whisky educator, and Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame inductee, Steve dedicated his life to sharing knowledge, raising standards, and inspiring those around him.

The whisky world has lost a true legend.

Rest in peace, Steve. You will be missed beyond words. The next generation will be better thanks to you and everything you had to share.

May our love and appreciation travel with you to the afterlife.
