As part of our efforts to slow herd growth, prevent overpopulation and reduce the need for future removals of wild horses, Bureau of Land Management - Nevada released 133 mares that were treated with fertility control back to the Nevada Wild Horse Range near Tonopah last week. The mares received two doses of GonaCon-Equine (the initial dose and a booster), which can prevent a mare from becoming pregnant for up to 4-5 years.

Part leasing a few lesson horses onsite at my place. Ask for details. I will post pictures throughout the following weeks.

A transition place from lessons to horse ownership, I might have the partner for you. If you still have a great love of riding but ownership it not possible, you might be happy here.

A part lease usually works one day a week for a few (1-3) hours, (longer than a lesson) mostly unsupervised. (somebody is always around somewhere) camera are on too.

If your into feet on the ground horsemanship, a trail lover, arena lover, honing your dressage basics, or a family into beauty routines with hugable ponies, leadline or beginner riding you want to teach yourself. I might have the partner for you.

Proper horse care in mandatory, there will be enough rules to keep you and my horses safe, happy and comfortable, as you explore my place.

You can have your own instructor here for lessons, (a short list of stipulations, such as proof of instructor insurance, scheduled lesson times etc.)

My place is professional, my horses are nice, I welcome like minded people to share my equine world.

Up front I ask that you limit distracting cell use and limit pictures, dont post or share my animals online. Leave your phone in the car if you can. This is a private place you will enjoy and distractions can lead to accidents.

We have a nice vacation farmhouse renting on Airbnb in Maryland if anyone wants to visit Washington DC, Baltimore or the Gettysburg Battlefield. It is 3 miles from the Monocacy Battlefield Historic area. 15 minutes to historic Frederick/Carrol Creek.
Can be viewed and booked on both VRBO and AIRBNB - 3 bedrooms, two baths. We are not renting it offline due to the insurance. You can canoe or kayaks down the Monocacy if your are looking for a water adventure, or hike to the waterfalls on the way past Camp David or walk the historic C and O Canal. Many winery's, local breweries, great restaurants are in Frederick, and a short drive to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia or Leesburg, Va and the museums in Wash, DC.

Premium Forage Products for Horses | Standlee Premium Western Forage

I asked customer service if I needed to soak both beet pellets and shreds prior to feeding. I have been trying it out on my seniors and a younger horse that needs a boost. Though I would share the response below.

Thank you for your email, we appreciate hearing from you. Standlee Premium Western Forage does recommend that the Beet Pulp pellets/shreds be soaked for several reasons, but one important reason is that most people are not aware that their horse is prone to choke until it chokes. Also, Beet Pulp is unlike other pelleted feeds. Beet Pulp will absorb the natural acid in your horses stomach and may cause extreme health concerns. When soaking the product, we recommend that pellets be soaked two parts room temperature or cold water to one-part product for at least 15-30 minutes and feed these products at ground level. The instructions on the bag that say “no more than 30 minutes”, this is because the chances of fermentation increase the longer it soaks.

My barn is full, has been for a few years. We are not offering overnight stalls again until this changes and our pandemic settles down. Just a few thoughts if you need to overnight your horse, the Southpoint Casino used to have an online list of facilities hosting for the NFR weeks, possibly year round too. Horsemans Park has a generous amount of pens and box stalls on the east side of LV. Wonder if they completed their covered arena project? Mesquite may still offer overnighting at the rodeo arena and Moapa has box stalls at the Clark County Fairgrounds. With the pandemic best to reach out first. We have also seen a tremendous amount of property change hands in the valley so that is also a factor at smaller facilities.

Always thinking I will start using the mobile account they offer but knowing I cant post updates in that small of a space and I dont have twice as much time trying to get it done, when horses and barn chores are front and center.

My early 2020 hiking/travel destination will be in Utah, exploring Coyote Buttes and The Wave, just four hours from Vegas. This is what happens with a daughter away at her Texas University. You kinda have alot of free time to roam but not a lot of money, (mine is earmarked for daughter emergencies). The parks are the best affordable adventures. Cant wait to get the horses out this spring, I just LOVVE the newer trailers.
