Founded by Multipure's Executive Vice President, Jennifer Rice, the Pure Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to education, assistance, and health improvement. Through Multipure's Pure Foundation, she hopes to make a positive difference, and create a healthier world for the future. It's Monday and we're off to an early start rewiring some solar panels to power more WaterBoxes for Puerto Rico...
Look who we found!!! Our Relief Team traveled to Aguadilla to try and find Noel during our first trip to Puerto Rico and wasn't able to make contact with him. We decided to try again this trip and SUCCESS! Noel is serving as a steward of the WaterBox we have deployed to assist the community in Aguadilla... So thankful, with Noel's help, we are able to help bring safe drinking water to the community!
This is what success looks like for the Pure Foundation! After a VERY long day working around broken ferries and difficult ground logistics, our team FINALLY made it to the small island of Vieques! Getting a WaterBox to the folks on this island was our number one priority this trip. It was an 18+ hour day for our team but those smiles say it all! So proud of our Relief Team and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico for making this possible!
And off we go again! Today our relief team headed back to Puerto Rico to deliver more emergency water purification systems and continue the work we started there! Be sure to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they travel!

Our team may have just gotten back from Puerto Rico, but yesterday we held our first planning meeting for Round 2. We're going back. Plans are being made. Parts for more WaterBoxes are on order. Travel and ground logistics are being researched. It takes a small army of people behind the scenes to make these trips a reality... please keep sending good thoughts their way.

We thought you might enjoy an inside look at the special water purification system we put together for Puerto Rico. Meet the Waterbox. The Waterbox is a multi-stage self-contained emergency water purification system. It is designed to take the worst possible water out there and turn it into clean drinking water. It uses a military-grade version of Multipure's PureBlock Technology - the same technology used in Multipure's Aqualuxe drinking water system. One set of Waterbox filter cartridges can clean THOUSANDS of liters of water. The Waterbox systems for Puerto Rico were retrofitted to run off of solar panels as less than 12% of the island has electricity, making the system totally self-contained and environmentally friendly. This neighborhood finally has reliable access to clean drinking water and can breathe a small sigh of relief now that they don't have to worry about drinking water that may make them seriously ill. 💙💙

One of the most meaningful and moving projects that our Foundation has ever undertaken was the project with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint during the Flint water crisis... such a phenomenal organization, shining a light during difficult days for their community... and they continue to be an inspiration today. After arrangements with another organization fell through less than 48 hours before our team's scheduled departure for Puerto Rico, we reached out to ask our friends at the Flint Club if they could help us navigate some "red tape". In less than 24 hours, they provided just the help we were looking for and were instrumental in connecting us with the Boys & Girls Clubs de Puerto Rico, another incredible organization shining their light and serving their local community with great heart. Thanks to the efforts of these Clubs, we were able to provide systems to several locations in Puerto Rico that are serving as emergency distribution centers in their local communities. That is success! That is the power of working together!
A picture is worth a thousand words! Today was another successful and busy day for our relief team. Relieved to check-in on Builders face-to-face. Lots of hugs and a few tears. Grateful to our distributors who are serving as stewards of the WaterBox, providing clean drinking water to their local communities for free. The folks getting their water supply from a local river with dead chickens floating down the stream now have a safe and reliable source for drinking water. No more fears of waterborne illness. That is a successful day! Looking forward to another great day tomorrow!
THIS. This is why our mission matters. This is why we do what we do. Because 17 days after Hurricane Maria made landfall, almost 44% of Puerto Rico's population still doesn't have access to drinking water. That 44% represents 1.5 MILLION PEOPLE... 1.5 million people... men, women and children just like you and me, struggling for a basic human need critical to survival. So happy to have our relief team on the ground working to change this statistic and make a difference for our friends in Puerto Rico and so VERY GRATEFUL for our donors that help make this mission a reality.

Susan is spending her birthday in Puerto Rico, as part of the Pure Foundation relief team, delivering emergency water purification systems to those in need in Puerto Rico. They made it! Yesterday was crazy busy, prepping for this trip. Finalizing all the last minute travel details, getting the emergency purification systems, solar panels, MREs (ready-to-eat meals) all packed up and the satellite phone activated... It was a big team effort, but totally worth it as our team landed in Puerto Rico this morning! After weeks of working to get them there, they are finally there.... So happy!
Today is the day! In just a couple of hours, our relief team will be in the air on their way to Puerto Rico. So thankful to have such wonderful team members serving the Pure Foundation! Please keep Kenton, Justin and Susan in your thoughts and prayers for the next week as they travel to Puerto Rico and set-up emergency water purification systems.
After a stressful couple of weeks trying to make travel arrangements, we are happy to announce that the Pure Foundation has a relief team leaving for Puerto Rico tomorrow night! We are also happy to say that they've made direct contact with a few of the Multipure Builders in Puerto Rico! More details to come tomorrow but please keep our team in your thoughts and prayers as they travel to check on Builders and their families and serve the hardest hit communities of Puerto Rico.
