This is flood irrigation on a newly leveled field of spring wheat, barley and oats. Water is from the sierra Nevada mountain range Tahoe and Carson basins.

Spring ground work has begun! This field will be planted into tri-grain. Interesting tidbit: There is no winter variety of oats, so it’s planted in the spring. Unlike wheat, which has winter varieties that can be planted in the fall. Do you have any animals you feed tri-grain to? Tag us or add a picture below of your animals

Being family owned and operated means everyone gets to pitch in and learn at a young age. Our cows love our little kids. Thats because the kids always want to feed them! The cows are quick to gather around when one walks by.
