So much has been going on here in the homestead behind the scenes we forgot to add updates here recently 😮‍💨 shame on us ! Our turkeys and guinea fowl are growing so beautifully and we have 2 new additions as of recently ! GEESE 💛 we are so excited about these little ones and what they will be doing for us here on the homestead as they grow.

We have 3 days left of some Rouen duck eggs in our incubator and these babies will be up for discussion to those interested . we will be posting some pictures of our last batch to show what they currently look like for reference and of course pictures of the ducklings when they hatch. Now that being said we do NOT ship so lucedale and surrounding area pickup only please 😌 all of that being said ITS LOCKDOWN DAY ✨😌

We picked up and added 4 new freinds to the homestead and I’m sure to your future 👀 these are Heritage breed bourbon red Turkeys and boy are we excited to have them ! 🦃

The livestock conservation notes that The Bourbon Red is a rare heritage turkey breed known for its striking appearance and hardiness. Originating in Bourbon County, Kentucky in the late 1800s, the breed gets its name from its reddish-brown plumage and place of origin. Bourbon Reds are known for their docile temperament, making them easy to manage for small-scale farmers and homesteaders. They are also productive birds, with hens laying 20–50 large, pale cream to mid-brown eggs per year.

Oh how great it must be to be a duckling here on the homestead 🤣😮‍💨 these guys sure are growing fast and they don’t know it yet but tomorrow they no longer will be the only ducks 🦆
