Pre-Bloom is here! With Virginia temperatures being warmer than usual, it's time for shoot thinning and suckering. Suckers are sprouts or slim branches that grow at the root or base of grapevines. Thinning and removing weak or poorly-situated sprouts is essential for setting the vines up for a healthy and productive growth. 🍇

Our crew has been hard at work getting ahead of the forecast and making sure all 10,000 vines are set up for success. Despite doing it all under the hot sun, their vineyard expertise and discipline has been vital for getting these wine grapes exactly what they need for a plentiful harvest.

No matter what weather this year brings, it’s thanks to our crew at October One Vineyard that these grapes will be prepared for anything. 💪
