Okay, y’all- meet Lady Gertrude Honkington the first. She will be nicknamed…Gertie 😂
It’s a hot one today, so she and her new flamingo friend are heading to the pool to cool off!

Thanks E-den Ranch for helping me figure out she was royalty!

Meet my newest addition! Help me name her (other than Gertie 😅)

I am thankful that today has gotten off to a much kinder start than yesterday! And there was another duck egg this morning, which is presumably coming from my Rouen female. I will be using her eggs to do my baking for the Hope Springs market coming up this weekend!

Last weekend we celebrated an early Father’s Day brunch. It is very rare, now that we are adults with our own families, for it to be just my parents, my brother, and me. We had such a lovely time together, though I missed seeing the rest of the family!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there and a special shout out to my own dad!

If you don’t see me post for a while, I probably ran away to a Caribbean island.
Farming is hard. Farming alone is even harder. I hhaaaattttteeee asking for help, but am grateful that my ex husband will come when I really need it. Today has been one of those days.

I can’t tell you how many videos or pictures I take that never get posted. I took this video at the beginning of May (peep the Brodeur Blooms bouquet in the back) and never got around to posting it.

I am a lip balm addict and have to have one in every room of the house. Since it’s something I put on my body often, I want to make sure it is made with good ingredients.
I change the recipe a little depending on the season so it doesn’t melt as easily in the heat!

Summer recipe is:
2T beeswax pellets
2T shea butter
1T coconut oil (it’s 2T in the winter)
10-20 drops essential oil (optional)

This makes about 13-14 tubes.

I’ll link the products I use in the comments.

A few friends and I have started getting together for monthly learning nights. It's a chance to step away from the busyness of life, learn something new, and enjoy fellowship with other moms.

Our first gathering was all about medicinal herbs. We made seed snails, and created seed blocks while sharing conversation, laughter, and encouragement. I couldn’t ask for a better group of ladies to learn along side of!

Shout out to Jodi from Following SEAS Farm for hosting and making a delicious herbal tea that we could not get enough of! I am so blessed to have her as a friend- she is so full of knowledge and has taught me so much already!

Our next gathering will be making homemade pasta from freshly milled flour! 👀

My garden is happy after the rain we’ve been getting! I can’t wait for all of the tomatoes to be ripe!

Have you propagated any plants? It works really well with herbs! If a friend has a great herb garden, take some cuttings home to start your own!

My friend Jess had told me about this cactus, and I found it at Walmart! Any guesses on what it is called?

It has been a whirlwind of a day, and it’s still not close to being over! I was able to rehome one of our white layer drakes, and came home with 3 female ducks! I think they’re khaki campbells, but not 100% sure. One of the two drakes we’re keeping is also a khaki campbell. His name was Emma before he turned out to be a boy, so we will rename him Emilio, and call these girls Emma, Emily, and Emmalynn.
