UPDATE: 7 dozen chicken eggs, 1 dozen duck eggs left!

Friends, we have plenty of eggs! Our girls are happy and they’ve been laying like crazy!!

We have 13 dozen chicken eggs & 2 dozen duck eggs ready to roll out. Collected this week.

🥬 Farm Fact Friday: Why Do Rabbits Do the Happy Hop?

When rabbits are excited, they do a twisty mid‑air jump called a binky. It’s pure joy with a side of chaos. If you see a bunny zoom, leap, and wiggle like it’s dodging imaginary lasers, that’s a binky. The Patlan Farms rabbits do them daily. Usually right after getting a fresh batch of hay.

Our happy hens have been laying like crazy this past month, so we have 11 dozen (yes, 11!!) fresh chicken eggs available.

Normally $4 a dozen, we’ll have these on sale 2 dozen for $5 until we run out.

🐣 Farm Fact Friday: Why Do Chicks Fall Asleep Standing Up?

Baby chicks can nod off anywhere. Their little bodies run out of energy mid‑cheep and they just… power down. One second they’re exploring, the next they’re asleep like someone hit the off switch. At Patlan Farms, we call it “surprise nap mode.”

🥚 Farm Fact Friday: What Makes Eggshell Colors Different?

Egg color comes from the breed of the hen. White Leghorns lay white eggs, Orpingtons lay brown, and Ameraucanas lay blue or green. The inside is the same — same nutrition, same deliciousness — just different “paint jobs” courtesy of genetics.

🌾 Farm Fact Friday: Why Do Chickens Take Dust Baths?

Dust baths help chickens clean their feathers, remove excess oil, and keep parasites away. They flop, roll, and wiggle in dry dirt like they’re at a spa. At Patlan Farms, the dust bath pit is basically the hens’ social club.
