STOP THE DATA CENTERS
What would make an entire herd suddenly stop producing living calves after a massive technology project moved in next door?
A Texas rancher near Abilene claims every calf born on his property since a nearby AI data center and its power equipment began operating has been stillborn. He says a constant low-frequency hum and vibration now travel across his land, and his cattle have abandoned the ravine where they once rested, choosing instead to sleep closer to the road.
That sounds alarming, especially when a farmer who knows his animals begins noticing changes he cannot explain. But this story also comes with an important warning: no independent veterinarian, laboratory study, or government investigation has confirmed that the facility caused the stillbirths.
The rancher’s experience is still an allegation, not scientific proof.
What makes the case bigger than one farm is the rapid expansion happening around it. Texas already has hundreds of operating data centers, with hundreds more planned, as companies race to build the infrastructure needed for artificial intelligence. Ranchers and rural residents are raising concerns about turbine noise, groundwater pressure, electricity demand, land use, and how quickly these industrial sites are appearing near homes and farms.
Data centers promise jobs, investment, and new technology, but communities are asking who measures the consequences when something appears to go wrong.
Progress matters, Wildlings, but so does proving that the people and animals living beside it are safe.
