Day 4
Holy hades I love chopping corn. I switched today to the 6 packs of Oreos. It’s all a mental thing. I felt bad that in 3 days I had finished off two full sized packs. So now when Heidi asks how many packs of Oreos I have gone thru she will know they must be smaller than the big family packs. Not even I could finish off multiple family packs in one day for multiple days in a row. Finished the first field today. Also the smallest field. Dang Lewiston during fall is beautiful.

It’s not just 🌽 chopping that makes me love fall so much. It’s the whole harvest thing- summer being over - fields bare. Sheds filled and lots of piles of feed. Saw Chris’s potatoe harvesters go past. Lots of full potato trucks running past us today.

Bronco and I had just finished eating Oreos with milk when I got a phone call. What great neighbors I have. They just called me and told me I had animals out. Multiple people called. My dad, Bronco, & I went fast on four wheelers down there and 4 cars of neighbors were there waiting with my animals cornered. Having great neighbors is the bomb!!
Lou Holts rocks!!!!
When my kids were younger, I made them watch Lou Holtz on different places talk about his three rules. He said he had three rules for his kids, his family, & every football team he ever had. He said he never needed a fourth rule because the three rules cover everything.
1st rule was don’t take something that doesn’t belong to you.
Do what’s right, & avoid doing wrong!
2nd rule was Always do your best. Be your best self. No matter if it’s checkers, or work, or whatever —do your best! Doing your best will make you happy!
3rd rule is show people you care, & to not to make it about you. You aren’t the most important person in the room, in the universe or most places. Let others enjoy their
moment and be supportive.
I miss seeing Lou’s wisdom in people.
My daughter reminded me of those rules last night and a friendly conversation. And I’ve been chuckling ever since.
