The newest additions to the Farm . . . Kikirikis!! These two have been here about a week and are doing great! We have more to come hopefully, eggs are in the incubator.

Don't know what a Kikiriki is? Let me tell you . . .

Kikiriki chickens (pronounced kee-kee-ree-KEE) are an ultra-miniature, "pocket-sized" micro-bantam chicken breed originating from Puerto Rico. Often weighing less than one pound, they are considered by poultry enthusiasts to be among the absolute smallest chickens in the world. They are pets, not poultry.

The name "Kikiriki" is the Spanish onomatopoeia for "cock-a-doodle-doo," perfectly matching their huge, comical personalities and surprisingly loud, tiny crows.

Tiny Stature: Fully grown adults typically weigh under 1 lb, fitting easily into the palm of a hand.

Body Shape: They sport a dramatic, upright stance with a high, puffed-out chest, short legs, and large downward-pointing wings.

Extreme Variety: Unlike highly standardized breeds, Kikirikis come in nearly every color and feather pattern imaginable. You can find them with frizzle feathers, naked necks, fluffy bearded cheeks, and even "vaulted skulls" (known as boneheads).

Distinct From Seramas: While frequently confused with the Malaysian Serama, the Kikiriki is a distinct breed with unique genetic roots tied to the Caribbean.

Last picture is an example of a full grown kikiriki!!
