For our newest release, we started with something old.

More than a century ago, E.J. Curley advertisements carried the ornate lettering and details of their time. When we began thinking about the first release in our new limited edition series, we went back to those archives.

The result is a Small Batch American Wh***ey with a label reimagined from a historic E.J. Curley advertisement. Inside is a blend of 14-year wh***ey distilled from a bourbon mash and 5-year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Wh***ey, bottled at 101 proof.

It’s a new expression of E.J. Curley, with a piece of our history right on the bottle. And fittingly, we’re sharing it for the first time here in Kentucky.

Available exclusively this week at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival in Bardstown, while supplies last.

Next stop: Bardstown.

E.J. Curley is headed to the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, bringing a name that has been part of Kentucky bourbon since 1867 back into the heart of the conversation.

We’ll be pouring Small Batch and Single Barrel throughout the weekend and sharing more from the festival along the way. If you’re headed to Bardstown, come find us at The Blending House tent.

The Kentucky River isn’t just part of the E.J. Curley story. It’s where it began.

In 1867, Edmund J. Curley established his wh***ey business near the river in Jessamine County, Kentucky, a landscape defined by limestone palisades, winding water and the history of bourbon making.

More than 150 years later, that sense of place still matters. The river is part of our history. And increasingly, part of the world we’re building around E.J. Curley today.

8,600 barrels. One sale.

By the turn of the 20th century, E.J. Curley had built a wh***ey business with reach far beyond Kentucky. His brands traveled across the country. He trademarked and commercialized the word Bluegrass in commerce. And in 1901, historical records document a single sale of 8,600 barrels of bourbon, described as record-breaking for its time.

Curley wasn’t simply making wh***ey. He understood how to build, market and move it at scale. That’s the history behind the name on our bottle.

Some names are worth remembering.

E.J. Curley established his wh***ey business along the Kentucky River in 1867, building distilleries and bourbon brands that would travel far beyond Kentucky.

More than 150 years later, the name is back. Not to recreate the past, but to carry forward a history that deserves another chapter.

This is E.J. Curley.
