I’m Kayliegh, a homesteading mom raising Nigerian Dwarf goats and creating handcrafted goat‑milk soaps and homestead products. My husband Jason and I chose this lifestyle to support our family’s health and happiness, especially for our son Riley, who has Autism. Caring for goats has helped him build confidence and daily life skills, and it has brought our family closer to the land. I share our journey in hopes of inspiring others who value simple living, meaningful work, and community.

I’m getting everything ready for this weekend’s vendor event and my table is officially turning into a sea of bottles. This is my limited edition scent, Citrus Petal Fusion, all packed up in 1 oz and 2 oz sizes and ready to go.

As for the scent… here’s the vibe.

Citrus Petal Fusion is a floral‑forward citrus blend that starts with that bright, sparkling Energy‑style citrus and then opens into a soft, airy floral note. It’s fresh, feminine, and has that pretty summer feel without being heavy or powdery. Think clean citrus with a gentle floral twist.

Yesterday was a production day here on the farm. I spent a good part of the afternoon heating oils, blending ingredients, and bottling a fresh batch of lotion for my upcoming vendor sale. I’ll be selling it alongside my goat milk soaps and lip balms, so I wanted to get everything mixed and bottled while the house was quiet.
I raise show dairy goats and use their milk in my recipes. It keeps everything gentle and creamy, especially for sensitive skin. I thought some of you might enjoy a quick look at the process, so I put together a short clip from yesterday’s batch.

Show prep always brings a few added expenses like CVIs, replacing our clippers, and keeping our hay supply steady. These are normal parts of caring for a herd and getting everyone ready for the season.

I also wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who recently ordered from our Etsy shop. Your support genuinely helps us cover the real costs that come with ethical, proper goat care. Hoof trimming is one of those essential tasks. It keeps the herd healthy, comfortable, and moving correctly, and it has to be done every 3 months.

Yes, it can be done solo, but with a herd our size we hire a farrier so everyone gets done safely and correctly in one day. It is not cheap, and your purchases helped make today possible. I cannot thank you enough for that.

Here are a few photos from hoof trimming day. Some goats cooperated like angels, and others screamed like we were lowering them into the void. Full drama. Zero danger. Maximum theatrics. Every single goat lived to tell the tale.

Thank you again for supporting our little farm and helping us give the herd the care they deserve.
