Slow Cooker French Onion Soup 🧅 🍲

+ 20 min in the oven to finish

PASSIVE TIME
8-10 hr to caramelize onions,

then 5-8 hr to cook soup

Ingredients

3 pounds white onions, sliced

8 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon salt

8 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

¼ cup white wine (or white cooking wine)

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

4 sprigs thyme, plus additional thyme for topping
Loaf of Italian bread, cut into ¾-inch slices, for topping

Your choice of cheese

Directions

1. Place onions, butter and salt in large slow cooker. Cook on low for 8-10 hours. This works best if you do it overnight.

2. In the morning add beef broth, Worcestershire, wine, red wine vinegar and thyme. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook on low for another 6-8 hours.

3. Ladle soup into broiler safe bowls. Top each bowl with 1-2 slices of bread and your choice of cheese. We use Provolone.

4. Bake for 20 minutes.

5. Turn on broiler and broil until golden brown, keeping a very close eye on it.

Crock-Pot Chicken Pot Pie Soup

9 boneless chicken breasts

3 can Cream of Chicken Soup (10.5 oz)

2 cups of Milk

1 cup of heavy cream

1.5 onion chopped

12 potatoes (peeled and diced or small potatoes )

48 oz bag of Frozen mixed vegetables

1.5 cup chopped celery

3 tsp Garlic powder

1.5 tsp Poultry Seasoning

3 tsp Salt

1.5 tsp Pepper

Refrigerated Biscuits (8 count)

Place everything in the crockpot except biscuits

Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.

Remove chicken and shred. Add back into the crock pot and stir to combine.

If you need to thicken take some of the gravy out of Crock-Pot and make a slurry by adding the gravy to a bowl with some cornstarch or flour mix well and stirr back into crockpot.

Bake your biscuits according to the package directions.

Serve warm and top each bowl with a biscuit with serving. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS
3 cups all purpose flour divided
3 Tbsp white sugar
1 .25 package rapid rise yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
1 cup warm water
3 Tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp salt

INSTRUCTIONS
In a resealable plastic bag place 1 cup of flour, sugar and yeast and add in warm water.
Squeeze air out of the bag and seal.
Squish with your hands until well mixed together.
Let it rest for 10 minutes at room temperature. Bubbles will form.
Open the bag and put in 1 cup of flour, oil and salt.
Seal the bag again and squish until well blended.
Add the last cup of flour and continue mixing in the same manner until well blended.
Remove dough from the bag and put it onto a lightly floured surface.
Knead for 5-10 minutes or until smooth.
Divide dough in half and place each half into a greased mini loaf pan. Or make one large loaf

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Ingredients

4 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced

1 medium onion, sliced into rings

salt and ground black pepper to taste

3 tablespoons butter

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon salt

2 cups milk

1 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F
Butter a 1-quart casserole dish.

Layer 1/2 of the potatoes in the bottom of the prepared casserole dish; season with salt and pepper. Layer onion slices over top, then top with with remaining potatoes. Season again with salt and pepper.

Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Gradually whisk in flour and salt and cook, whisking constantly until raw flour flavor has cooked off, about 1 minute. Gradually add milk, about 1/4 cup at a time, whisking well after each addition to incorporate; the gradual addition and whisking of milk will help avoid lumps in your sauce.

Cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture has thickened, 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in cheese all at once; continue stirring until melted, 30 to 60 seconds. Pour cheese sauce over the potatoes, and cover the dish with aluminum foil.

Bake in the preheated oven until potatoes are tender and sauce is bubbly, about 1 1/2 hours

Salisbury Steak

Yield: 6 servings
Nutrition Info

Meat Mixture:
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef

1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs

1 packet of onion soup mix

1 tablespoon ketchup

2 teaspoons dry mustard or regular mustard

4 dashes Worcestershire sauce

1 cube beef bouillon, crumbled

Salt and pepper

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

Gravy:
1 whole onion, halved and thinly sliced (or diced if you prefer)

1 container of sliced baby Bella mushrooms

2 cups beef broth, more if needed for thinning

1 tablespoon ketchup

1 teaspoon seasoning sauce, optional ( I use liquid smoke )

4 dashes Worcestershire

1 teaspoon cornstarch, optional

Salt and pepper

Directions

For the meat mixture:
Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, ketchup, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, bouillon and some salt and pepper. Knead until all combined. Form into 4 to 6 oval patties, and then make lines across the patties to give them a "steak" appearance.
Fry the patties in a skillet with the butter and oil over medium-high heat on both sides until no longer pink in the middle. Remove from the skillet and pour off any excess grease.

For the gravy:
Reduce the heat to medium and add in the sliced onions and mushrooms. Stir and cook until golden brown and somewhat soft, for several minutes. Add the beef stock, ketchup, seasoning sauce, if using, and the Worcestershire. Then combine the cornstarch with a little beef broth and add to the sauce if using. Stir and cook to reduce.
Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper and more broth if needed for thinning. Then return the patties to the gravy. Spoon the gravy over the top and let them simmer and heat back up for a couple of minutes.
Serve over potatoes or by itself either way it is delicious.

Apple pie french toast roll ups

Ingredients
10-12 toast bread slices
4 oz cream cheese room temperature
2 eggs
3 tbsp milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp butter for cooking, more if necessary

* for the homemade Apple Filling Option
2 Tablespoons butter
3-4 medium apples peeled cored and diced in to 1/4-inch cubes
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 Tablespoons water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 Tablespoon + 1 teaspoon cornstarch
2 Tablespoons water

* for the canned apple filling option
1 can apple pie filling

Instructions
In a medium size pan, melt butter, add apples, spices, brown sugar and 3 Tablespoons water. Cook over medium-high heat, for 4-6 minutes or until apples very slightly softened.

In a small dish combine cornstarch and 2 Tablespoons water. Add to pan while stirring and continue to cook until apples are tender, and filling is thickened, about 4-5 minutes. Cool.

In a bowl combine sugar with cinnamon and set aside. In another bowl beat eggs with milk and set aside.

Remove the bread crust, and flatten the slices with a rolling pin. Spread cream cheese evenly on each slice of bread.

Add about 1-2 teaspoons of the apple filling along one edge of the bread, the roll them up.
Gently but tightly roll up the bread around the apple filling. Continue with the remaining bread.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and melt about 1 tbsp of butter. Coat the rolls in the egg mixture and place seam side down. Cook 3-4 roll at a time.

When browned, turn a quarter turn and continue until all sides are cooked and browned nicely. Clean the pan slightly with a paper towel and repeat until all rolls are cooked.

Roll into the sugar cinnamon mixture. Serve warm and dip in maple syrup if desired.

Philly Cheese Steak Casserole

1 1/2 роundѕ lеаn grоund bееf

1/2 уеllоw оnіоn
1 сlоvе gаrlіс
1 teaspoon ѕеаѕоnеd salt (Lawry’s or Mortons)
4 ѕlісеѕ Prоvоlоnе cheese
4 lаrgе eggs
1/4 сuр hеаvу сrеаm
1 tеаѕрооn hоt ѕаuсе
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

Preheat oven tо 350 dеgrееѕ. Sрrау a 9×9 baking dish with nоn-ѕtісk ѕрrау.

Dісе the рерреrѕ and оnіоnѕ іntо bіtе-ѕіzеd pieces. Mіnсе the gаrlіс.

Add the ground bееf tо a ѕkіllеt and сооk оvеr mеdіum heat, сrumblіng as іt cooks.

When bееf is broken apart, but ѕtіll pink, аdd thе рерреrѕ, оnіоn, garlic, аnd seasoned salt. Cоntіnuе сооkіng, stirring often, untіl bееf is cooked through and vеgеtаblеѕ hаvе ѕоftеnеd a bіt.

Drain grеаѕе from thе ѕkіllеt and роur mixture into thе рrераrеd bаkіng dіѕh.

Tеаr thе cheese іntо ѕmаll pieces and place оvеr the beef mixture. (If you like it cheesy use more Provolone)

Add the eggs, cream, hоt ѕаuсе, and Worcestershire sauce tо a mixing bоwl аnd whisk wеll to combine.

Pour the egg mixture оvеr thе bееf аnd рlасе thе dіѕh іn thе oven. Bаkе fоr 35 mіnutеѕ оr untіl thе eggs аrе ѕеt.

Lеt ѕіt 5 mіnutеѕ bеfоrе ѕlісіng and serving.

Sausage Gravy

1lb of maple ground sausage
Flour
3-4 cups of milk
Pepper

Cook sausage until brown do not drain the grease
Add flour ( enough to soak the grease up ) stir it around until it's all mixed in the meat

Add 2 cups of milk and stir add 1 more cup of milk and stir ( you may need only 3 cups of milk all depends on how thick you want the gravy )

Bring to a boil and stir make sure you get all the goodness that's on the bottom if the pan. Mix in enough pepper to taste. Turn heat down to a simmer and just let it simmer until thick. Make sure not to over boil.

Put it over biscuits with eggs and enjoy 😋

French Bread 🍞
2 cups warm water
1 Tablespoon active dry yeast
2 1/2 teaspoons sugar
5-6 cups flour
2 1/2 teaspoons table salt or fine sea salt
1 teaspoon olive oil

Instructions
In a small bowl, combine the warm water, yeast and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes, or until it has begin to foam.
Place 2 cups of flour into a large mixing bowl with the salt. Stir in the yeast mixture and begin to knead by hand or using a dough hook and stand mixer. Add 1/2 cup of the remaining flour at a time until the dough is smooth but not sticky. Rub the olive oil around the dough ball and let rest for 15 minutes.
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and divide it in half. Roll one half into a rectangle. Starting from the long side, roll the dough into a cylinder. Turn both ends in and pinch the seams closed. Round the edges and place onto a baking sheet. Repeat with the second dough ball. Let rise for 30-45 minutes. Make three diagonal cuts across the top of each loaf.
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Bake for 17-20 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
Brush the top with melted butter if desired 😃
