Pumping at work shouldn’t feel like an afterthought. 💼🍼
This week is Workplace Lactation Week and it’s a good reminder that returning to work doesn’t have to mean giving up your feeding goals, but it usually does take a little planning.
A few things that can make pumping at work easier:
⭐ Know where and when you’ll be able to pump before your first day back
⭐ Build a pumping schedule around your baby’s usual feeding rhythm
⭐ Make sure your pump setup is comfortable and efficient
⭐ Keep backup parts, milk storage supplies, and a charger at work
⭐ Give yourself time to adjust. Your routine may need tweaking once you’re actually back
And if pumping at work feels harder than expected, that doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.
An IBCLC can help you troubleshoot output, fl**ge fit, pumping frequency, and a plan that fits your actual workday.
