From Grain to Bread Local Micro-Bakery At From Grain to Bread, we believe food should be simple, nourishing, and rooted in community. This isn’t fancy food. It’s honest food.

What started as a personal journey of health, weight loss, and sustainable living has grown into a micro-bakery passionate about whole ingredients and the craft of hand-milled sourdough. We use locally sourced grains, honey, cream, and seasonal produce whenever possible, not just for flavor, but to strengthen our local food network. Every loaf is a small act of resistance against the rise of ultra

-processed foods — a reminder that bread can be wholesome, hearty, and deeply satisfying. Our urban homestead inspires what we bake: chickens in the yard, herbs in the garden and bees in the hive (someday, but currently sourced locally). Baking is more than bread; it’s about community, connection, and building something real together. From grain to bread, from neighbor to neighbor.

Well friends, it's time for me to take a little pause.

This Monday I'll be having knee replacement surgery, and while I'm looking forward to getting back to doing all the things I love, but it means From Grain to Bread will be taking a break while I focus on recovery.

At this point, I don't know exactly when I'll be back in the kitchen. My goal is to heal well, regain my mobility, and return when I can safely give baking the attention it deserves.

I know we say this ad nausea, but we can't begin to express how grateful we are for your support, encouragement, and every loaf, muffin, cinnamon roll, and dozen eggs you've welcomed into your homes. This little bakery has become something very special because of all of you.

We continue to share updates along the way, and when the ovens are heating up again, you'll be among the first to know.

🌾 A Little Update from From Grain to Bread 🌾

Friends,

I've been dealing with some ongoing knee and mobility issues, and I've learned that sometimes the best thing we can do is slow down and give our bodies the time they need to heal.

Because of that, I'll be scaling back bakery operations for a little while.

I'm still happy to take occasional orders, but I won't be hosting my regular Wednesday pickup schedule for the time being. If you'd like to place an order, just send me a message and we'll work out pickup details together. Please don't hesitate to order, I still want to keep my baking skills on point!

If you'd like to sample some of my baked goods, I'll be bringing a few treats to the Red Deer Art Show on Saturday, June 6. I'd love to see some familiar faces there! Ask me for details!

Thank you all for your support, encouragement, and kindness as I've grown From Grain to Bread. This little bakery isn't going anywhere—I'm simply taking a slower pace while I focus on getting back on my feet.

As always, thank you for supporting local bread, local eggs, and one baker's dream.

🌾 From Grain to Bread Bakery Update 🌾

Just a little Monday note to let everyone know that the bakery will be taking this week off for a bit of rest, planning, and preparation behind the scenes. Don't worry, though, Henry is hard at work guarding his hens. 💛

While there won’t be orders this week, there are some really good things slowly rising in the background over here, and I’m incredibly grateful for all of your support, encouragement, and patience as this little bakery continues to grow.

I’ll be back soon with fresh sourdough (think oniony and cheesy), cozy bakes, and hopefully some exciting updates to share along the way. 🥖🐓

Today’s the day! Fresh sourdough and hamburger buns are headed out the door today. 🍞🍔

Thank you so much to everyone who ordered this week. Every loaf, bun, and dozen eggs helps support this little bakery adventure — and I appreciate it more than you know. ❤️

I’ll be taking next week off to recharge a bit, organize, and spend some time preparing for what’s next for From Grain to Bread.
