Have had a lot going on and haven’t posted in a bit. We are all sick this weekend but let a few chickens out to free range got a photo of Buddy chilling with his chicken herd and we got some quial eggs set in the incubator!!

Happy Mid-Week!

We are collecting donations for the January Homesteader of the Month. Every little bit helps 💜 two coffees = a bag of feed or a couple of bales of hay or a very small portion of a new incubator, etc. If you are unable to help out, please consider sharing our post so it may reach more farmers/homesteaders.

We all have loss and sickness Evan death in or birds we don’t always talk about it. I lost a group of grow outs the past couple of days that really upset me. I had bought a food I don’t normally and my son filled the feeder of one group of grow outs bc they were out of food thankfully the other groups feeder dint need filled but end of day I had already lost 3 and it only got worse at first we couldn’t figure out what was going on but then realized the food had mold on it we quickly got rid of the whole bag I got new and we still have a few of the littles from that batch left I did get a refund for the food but that didn’t replace my little ones now I will check my feed closer for sure Anways I just wanted to share incase crazy out of the blue stuff happens to you your not alone and more than likely it will be the ones you love the most something will happen too our little silkies are not invincible they are livestock like all other chickens and sometimes bad things happen on the farm no matter what you do

Sweet Fields Farm I hatched some of the cutest fluffy children today!!! 14!!! Out of the 16 that went on lock down I will take those odds any day!!! Thank you so much 😊
