Hi. So glad you’re here!
I’ve never done any of this before so let me just say Hi.
I’m Patrick.
I really don’t like feed bags and I really don’t like paying too much for chicken feed.
By no means am I a environmental activist but when I see something as wasteful as feed bags going through my hands I just don’t like being the cause of waste. This is especially true when there are other options made of reusable plastics that are appropriate for food storage.
That’s what leads me here trying to organize a group of likeminded chicken people to come together and save on multiple levels.
Money
Micro plastic
Waste
To name a few.
As I said I’m new to this Facebook stuff so I’ll get better at posting and stuff and learn along the way but I feel I should touch on the most important subject… scams,
Facebook is riddled with scammers. I started using Facebook only last year specifically for the Marketplace and wow the number of shady scammers was shocking to me but thankfully I never got fooled.
I would hope you know that stuff happens and have already asked yourself, is Patrick legit?
In the process of planning this post I thought to myself how can I assure people I’m am…
Well first and foremost.
I’m organizing a group to buy chicken feed but I am Never going to ask anyone to pay in advance.
That’s right I will buy everything up front. Of course that’s once we find enough people to give their word and commit to the idea of refilling containers of feed.
I will never ask for your personal information.
I will never ship… this is in person feed pick up so no cash app Venmo zell or bitcoin.
Does that help? Let me know if there is more I can do though I think we should be straight.
So here is a summary of my plan
Step 1
Begin by organizing you and you and you by following this page and joining the group which I will make right after I post here.
Step 2
I will obtain food grade containers which are clean of food residue.
These containers can range from a 5 gallon bucket to a larger 15 gallon mini barrel. These hold 25 and 75 pounds of feed respectively.
This means a 50 pound feed bag is actually 2 buckets with space on top.
Step 3
I will take a load of containers and fill them with locally produced chicken feed.
Step 4 Now is your part
You need to determine how much chicken feed you need for 1 month so you can purchase your buckets and return them to swap for full buckets
Step 5?
Now we all repeat the process
I fill the buckets
You buy the food and return buckets
I refill the buckets
Repeat…
It’s pretty simple though there are options to consider but for now let’s focus on step one
Follow and like and share this with a other chicken friends.
I really appreciate you taking the time to read that and joining in my plan.
I’m going to try to put together a frequently asked questions so if you have any please do ask away either here (I don’t know if there are comments on this type of post) or on the group which I will name the same as here.
Thank you!
