It was such an informative Farm Bill Listening Session hosted by Jahana Hayes @ Shepaug Valley HS was worthwhile. We heard from farmers and various leaders of organizations as they shared considerations that could better support successful/secure futures for farms. The revision of the Farm Bill only happens every 5 years.

Here are a few topics that were touched upon: environmental issues, climate crisis, land conservation "in" production, workforce investment, SNAP programs, health/nutrition, land grants, agricultural education, food security, smart agriculture, farm to school, BIPOC farmer support, meat processing plants, concerns for small farms needing support, and more.

Thank you, Office of Congresswoman Jahana Hayes, for making this important session possible.

Farm On!
