Effective 1/1/26, my title changes.
My CPA license will now be listed as Inactive.
Something that I have worked hard at since high school. But, it’s just a career title. It holds no eternal value.
In July of 2025, I made the difficult decision to leave a job I loved. A dream job. One that allowed me to have the flexibility to work from home while still watching my boys. Ultimately, I knew my boys needed more time and energy from me. They deserved that. So even though I decided to put a pause on my career, it feels like I got a promotion.
I get to spend every part of the day with the children God has blessed me with. I get to see their firsts, handle their big feelings, comfort them, teach them, and protect their childhood.
We get to enjoy slow moments together. Work out in the garden in the cool, summer mornings. Bake cookies in the afternoon and sit in front of the fire with a stack of books during a cold, winter day.
I know not every momma can do this. Not every momma would want to do this. But, I believe in traditional values and raising my children myself. I didn’t become a mother to send them off to daycare to be raised by someone else. I didn’t become a mother to spend most of my time away from them.
This is a conviction God had given me. I knew before our first child was born that I didn’t want to send them to daycare. I didn’t know how we would make it work (logistics, finances, etc.), but when God puts a desire on your heart, He won’t abandon you.
Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
My new title: SAHM (Stay-at-Home-Mom)
Being a SAHM isn’t the easy route. It requires sacrifice, patience, and choosing a lifestyle that puts family first. It is one of the hardest jobs, but is also the most important.
Mothers have a vital role in being the gatekeepers to the hearts and minds of their children. It is an exciting honor to fulfill this job God has blessed me with.
So, cheers to the New Year ahead. A year of new beginnings, abundant blessings, and not having to work a busy Tax Season for the first time in many years.
