Need someone to explain soccer tactics before the next match?
We’ve got you covered. German snack edition.
Today we’re lining up in a classic 4-3-3.
The Fischli cracker is in goal. Calm under pressure, dependable, and there when you need it most.
The defenders are Flippies. Not flashy, but disciplined, reliable, and doing all the work nobody notices until it’s too late.
The midfield Flippies are everywhere. Connecting the play, helping out in defense, and making things happen from the center of the field.
Out wide, the wingers bring the creativity and pace. Their job is to keep the defense guessing and create opportunities.
And right down the middle is the striker. Focused on one thing: finishing the job.
Did we get the tactics right?
What formation should we explain next?

Every watch party has one.
They show up saying they’re “not really hungry.”
Then they spot the chips.
Then the gummy candy.
Then the chocolate.
Thirty minutes later they’re standing next to the snack table full-time, claiming every handful is their last one.
We’ve all met this person.
Some of us are this person.
Tag the friend who somehow eats half the snack table before halftime.

We asked you what your favorite German foods and snacks are... and you definitely delivered.
Some of the most popular answers included German salted chips, Lorenz Naturals Paprika Chips, Funny-Frisch Goldfischli crackers, refreshing citrus-flavored sweets, classic chocolate sticks, and Haribo Strawberries.
What we love most is how different everyone’s favorites are. Some people go straight for the savory snacks, others can’t resist German candy, and plenty of you have that one childhood favorite you’ll never stop buying.
The good news? There are no wrong answers when German snacks are involved.
What German food, candy, or snack would make your list?

Our German Taste Tester is back with another trip down memory lane.
This time it’s vintage Thomy mayonnaise packaging.
Unlike some old products that look completely different today, Thomy has stayed surprisingly consistent. The colors are still recognizable, the iconic tube is still around, and many Germans can probably still hear the old commercials and jingles in their heads.
His verdict? The packaging hasn’t changed all that much. Although he did point out that it looked a little more like toothpaste back then.
One thing that hasn’t changed, though: the mayonnaise inside.
Do you remember the old Thomy commercials?
And what nostalgic packaging instantly takes you back?

Our German Taste Tester found another piece of vintage packaging history.
The funny thing? This design looks so retro that if a brand released it today, people would probably assume it was intentionally made to look old-fashioned.
But this wasn’t a retro throwback. This was the modern design.
That’s what makes old packaging so fascinating. Styles change, colors change, fonts change, but somehow one glance is enough to bring back memories of family kitchens, grocery store trips, and childhood favorites.
And honestly? It still looks pretty tasty.
What old packaging instantly takes you back?

Now its your turn! Try to say these German tongue twisters and let us know how it goes! Or better yet, stitch this video and show us!
Zehn zahme Ziegen zogen zehn Zentner Zucker zum Zittauer Zoo.
Im dichten Fichtendickicht picken dicke Fichtenfinken tüchtig.

Tag us and well rate it for you.

Maoam Kracher.
Go ahead. Try saying it three times fast.
These chewy candies with the fizzy center have been a favorite for generations of German candy lovers. Sweet on the outside, fizzy on the inside, and somehow impossible to eat just one.
Our German Taste Tester says they’re one of his personal favorites, and honestly, we can see why.
Now we need to settle an important question:
What’s your favorite Maoam Kracher color? Tell us in the comments.

The World Cup is finally here, and that means one thing: it’s time to build the ultimate snack table.
For this game, we’re keeping it German.
First up are the crunchy essentials: German salted chips and Funny-Frisch Frit-Sticks. Because no watch party survives on one bowl of snacks alone.
Next come the shareable favorites. Saltletts and Fischli crackers are perfect for reaching across the table while arguing about a referee call.
Then it’s time for something sweet. Haribo gummies are a crowd-pleaser in every flavor, and Milka chocolate is always a safe bet for the chocolate lovers in the room.
And for drinks? Almdudler. Austria’s iconic herbal soda and a staple at plenty of German-speaking get-togethers.
Now the table is ready.

The only question is: what’s missing? Tell us in the comments.

Grabower Schokoküsse, the chocolate-covered marshmallow treat that sparks a debate every time: wafer first or chocolate first?
Some are childhood favorites. Some are everyday staples. All of them have earned their place on the list.

Which one would you try first? Let us know in the comments.
