📖 Maddie’s Daily Farm Report: Vacation Edition 🐐💅

Well… I wasn’t going to say anything because I’m trying to be mature and independent and all that… but I might miss Mom and Dad a little bit.

Okay. Fine. Maybe a lot.

Not enough to admit it publicly… except this is now public.

But before everyone gets dramatic — THEY MISS ME TOO. I know this as a confirmed fact because every day that weird little camera in our pen suddenly starts talking and then I hear:

“Hi Maddie! We miss you!”

Excuse me? You leave for cooler weather and suddenly become giant floating heads in the sky? Very suspicious behavior.

Naturally, I act like I don’t care. I glance at the camera. Walk away. Then circle back 17 times to make sure they’re still there.

Farm management has continued while they’re gone… with mixed results.

First of all… Carli has apparently decided rules are optional.
I keep hearing Grandma outside yelling:

“CARLI!!”
…pause…
“CARLI!!!”
…longer pause…
“CARLI COME BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!”

I don’t know what she’s doing but based on the volume and frequency of her name being announced across the property, I’d say she’s conducting unauthorized inspections.

Meanwhile… tragic news in the duck department.

Poor Brownie Duck lost her eggs AGAIN to a snake.

Brownie has officially entered her “I worked hard for NOTHING” era and honestly… I respect the frustration.

On a happier note…

Salty Duck is still sitting on what can only be described as a mountain of eggs.
She refuses to move. She refuses to discuss it. She looks determined.

We are all hoping for tiny little quackers very soon. 🐥🦆

Grandma keeps saying Mom and Dad are having fun.

That’s great. Wonderful. Love that for them.

But I would just like everyone to remember…

Some of us are home…
maintaining morale…
supervising Grandma…
monitoring ducks…
tracking Carli…
and accepting camera calls.

Vacation is temporary.

Farm royalty is forever.

🐐 Maddie’s Official Sunday Ranch Report 🐐

Attention everyone… apparently yesterday was declared OFFICIAL PACKING DAY.

Packing for WHAT exactly?
Nobody consulted me.
Nobody requested barn approval.
Nobody asked if I had emotional support needs.

Then Mom casually announced she’s heading north for cooler temperatures.

Cooler temperatures??
Excuse me… have you considered standing in the shade?
I survive South Carolina summers daily with a black fur coat and zero complaints (okay… a few complaints).

Then I overheard something even more concerning…

She said she might see a whale.

A WHALE.

Now listen. I sure hope she is not planning on adding to the farm.
We already have goats.
We have chickens.
We have guineas that scream for sport.
I draw the line at ocean livestock.

But then she got all emotional and announced…
“This will be the longest we’ve ever been apart.”

And then… she begged me not to forget her.

Forget her??

Ma’am.
I remember every bottle.
Every snack.
Every time you said “who chewed this?” and looked directly at me.

I will not forget you.

But I may act slightly offended for 7–10 business days upon your return…
for dramatic effect and extra treats.

Travel safe Mom.
I’ll hold down the ranch.
Try not to bring home a whale. 🤍🐋🐐

🐐 Maddie’s Daily Report: Things Humans Don’t Know About Goat Mischief 🐐

Dear friends,

People think goats just stand around looking adorable… chewing hay… being cute…

That is excellent. Please continue believing that.

What you don’t know is that goats live a very exciting undercover life.

For example…

If you leave a gate mostly closed?
That is not a gate.
That is a challenge.

If there is a flower bed?
We have inspected it.
Taste tested it.
Rearranged it.

If Mom is carrying feed?
Suddenly every goat appears out of nowhere like she announced free samples.

If there is a bucket?
We have to stick our heads in it.

If Dad is fixing something?
One goat supervises.
One steals the glove.
One climbs onto equipment for a better view.

If there is a clean shirt?
There will soon be hoof prints.
That’s called customization.

If you bend over to tie your shoe?
Be prepared for a goat yoga session .

And humans should know this important fact:

Goats do not understand the phrase
“that’s not yours.”

Everything is ours until proven otherwise.

Tree branches? Ours.
Feed scoop? Ours.
Water bucket? Ours.
Your personal space? Definitely ours.

Also… we do not climb because we need to.

We climb because being taller than everyone else feels correct.

Today’s advice from me, Maddie:

If your goat is suspiciously quiet…
It's inspection time.....

🐐 Maddie’s Thursday Report: “Chores Day Chronicles” 🐐

Good Mornin’ peeps… it’s me, Maddie, checking in with today’s farm drama. 💅🐐

Apparently Thursday is what Mom calls “Chore Day”… which sounds suspiciously like everyone works while I supervise. 😌

First thing I noticed… THE GREEN MACHINE came out. 🚜
Now, I don’t know who gave Dad permission to drive that thing around the yard, but it sure does make a lot of noise for something that doesn’t even hand out snacks.

Then Mom grabbed the GIANT SCISSORS ✂️ and started attacking the bushes.
I asked her if the bushes were causing trouble… because honestly, that seemed like the only reasonable explanation. 🌿😂

Next, I caught Mom down on her hands and knees in the flowers pulling out what looked like tiny green appetizers. 🥬
I’m still waiting for someone to explain why she’s digging up snacks and NOT sharing with the goat crew. Seems a little suspicious if you ask me.

And then came the chicken coop cleaning… 🐓
The chickens ran around like they were giving a five-star inspection while Mom did all the work. Typical.

My Thursday advice:
Stay cute.
Stay out of trouble.
And always supervise the humans… because clearly they need it. 😜

Happy Tuesday, y’all!

This morning I was standing on my favorite hill, supervising the ranch (it’s exhausting being this important), when I overheard Mom laughing at a sign that said:

“We can’t all be princesses… someone has to clap when I go by.”

Well, obviously they were talking about me.

Now don’t get me wrong—Macie is adorable with her wobbly little legs and tiny baby goat zoomies. But when I strut across the pasture with my ears flopping in the breeze and my collar looking fabulous, somebody ought to be applauding.

The chickens? They’re my audience.

The guineas? They’re my security detail. Loud, but loyal.

The ducks? They’re still trying to figure out what’s going on.

And little Macie? She’s currently my biggest fan, although she mostly just follows me around and tries to eat the same things I’m eating and do the same things as me.

So if you happen to see a beautiful goat marching through the yard today with confidence, grace, and just a tiny bit of attitude…

Don’t worry about being a princess.

Just clap. 👏🐐👑
