Like many Americans — and especially fellow Arkansans — I’ve watched with heartbreak and concern as families are facing the devastating effects of the SNAP program suspension due to the ongoing government shutdown. Across Central Arkansas, food banks and pantries are doing everything they can, but the demand is unlike anything we’ve seen before — and resources and help are running thin.

We can’t afford to wait and see how this unfolds. We must act now.

That’s why I founded ARKANSAS Table — a rapid-response effort to support our local food banks and pantries during this crisis. Through your donations, ARKANSAS Table will immediately purchase and deliver food and essential items to organizations already serving families in need.

The GOAT of LR bbq is undisputedly Sims BBQ - prove me wrong. I got the sliced brisket sandwich - I wish I had gotten the chopped just because it would have been easier to eat. The white bread is the perfect sop bread. And the potato salad is second to none.

This is the hot chicken biscuit from Hillcrest Little Bakery, and is honestly worth the large portion and the amount of calories - just kidding, this is the calorie-free option 😉. This is the best place for a small group, date or spot alone to think or work. They used to be closed on some weekdays, but are now open weekdays 7-2 and weekends 8-2! 👏🏼 🍳 🥓 🥯 ☕️

When you want a sandwich and a pizza, Pizza Cafe West for the Italian Sub and the Big Ricky pizza. I also had the Mista Salad for the first time and their vinaigrette is tangy and the sunflower seeds make it delicious!

Found myself in Bryant, so I found my way to Speakeasy Cafe. Gah this place is so great. It’s a quaint, yet hoppin, little coffee shop that serves SUPERB food - breakfast and lunch. I didn’t intend on eating both, but I did. And I didn’t intend on eating there, but I did because it could not wait. These are the breakfast sliders, complete with a dash of sriracha. 👨🏻‍🍳🤌🏼

Introducing the new loml- the Spicy Beef sandwich at BCW. Get it. And split it with this side order of potatoes and their lemony taziki ranch. The flavor is incredible and equally so is the au jus. I wouldn’t call it spicy. More like a hint of a kick bursting with seasoning!

My first visit to Nexus Coffee & Creative and boy was I impressed. What an awesome atmosphere where they serve delicious coffee drinks, pastries, swag and even books! The vibe is moody and low-key, yet energetic. The Honey Lavender Latte is exactly what I needed on that faux fall day.
