This weekend we drove down south to purchase a 1940s A.T. Ferrell & Co Seed Cleaner. These type of mini clipper machines are incredibly hard to find. Originally, you would have seen this being used in an office for small batches in order to grade seed for quality. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in these old machines is remarkable, a testament to the engineering of the era.
The owner shared stories of its history, adding layers of nostalgia and appreciation to our find. Each scratch and dent seemed to tell a tale of the countless seeds it had graded over the decades.
It is more than just a piece of equipment; it is a bridge connecting the past and present, ready to serve its purpose once more with a little bit of restoration and care.
