Big news for Missouri schools and farmers + ranchers 🎉
The Foundation for Food and Farm Connections has received a $151,800 USDA Farm to School Grant to expand “Powered by Protein” through Mo Beef Kids—helping schools source local beef, strengthen farm-to-school connections, and bring more nutrition education to students statewide.
We’re proud to champion animal protein on the school lunch tray and highlight beef’s ten essential nutrients while connecting students to the farmers behind their meals.
Thank you to our founding partners: Missouri Beef Industry Council and Missouri Department of Agriculture.
We’re also proud to partner with Missouri Farm Bureau’s AITC program and Opaa! Food Management, Inc. over the course of this project, to strengthen farm-to-school efforts and bring the farm story full circle, from cafeteria to classroom.
Special thank you to Lori Danella, Director of Nutrition Services for the Lee’s Summit School District, and to East Trails Middle School for hosting us.
