Turned the dirt a second time, tossing out any w**d roots to be found. Then used the Twisty Thingy to break up any clumps and aerate the soil. Finally raked the soil nice and level. I was going to plant the peppers today, but the plants were saturated. Planting them tomorrow instead.

Tomorrow the 2nd wave of peppers make their way to their garden bed!

I have a love/hate relationship with our dehydrator, so I tried drying my last basil harvest by bunching the stems in a rubber band and attaching a cooking twine loop to hang on a standard plastic hanger in a closet! I needed a space with air flow but no sunlight. Totally worked, without having to reset a machine for days!!

Pepper EXPLOSION here at LHF! The heat wave and weekend rain has made perfect growing conditions for many of the crops, but the peppers are in the spotlight for sure! The black peppers came out of nowhere, and the King Arthur followed suit! The beans are establishing dominance in their beds, and the early cucumber are ready to start showing fruit, and the June seeds are sprouting their first true leaves! The squash need to be watched closely nowadays, as they can shoot out a summer squash or zucchini overnight to full size! The ghost peppers are no longer hiding how many each will have, and even the Tabasco is becoming daring! The Scotch Bonnets have fruit now with more flowers promised. The melons are sprawling and flowers are showing on the honeydew! And now the extra seeds I planted are sprouting! The pumpkin are growing in, and the roma tomatoes look lovely. The black Krim and Blanco tomatoes are showing many blooms! Finally, the Hungarian and Cayenne peppers are competing for top medium hot pepper in the patch! And I almost forgot! The second wave of jalapeΓ±os and the rainbow peppers are transplanting this week, and the potatoes I took a picture of last week with my Nephew, are definitely showing they're yellowing! I figure 2 more weeks to harvest!
