Running an experimental test batch of bacon. Working on a “just salt” version and trying to drop the brown sugar out of our current cure recipe. The just salt version still needs work. Too salty. But I think we’re locked in on the original TOF Bacon. “Heritage Breed, Non-GMO, Pasture Raised Pork, Organic Maple Sugar, Salt”

We’re not just saying that and then sneaking celery juice powder in there 🙄

20 Gilts move into a really cool paddock. These girls are scheduled to breed in November.

We’ve welcomed several new piglets to the farm recently and the cuteness overload is just beginning ☺️ We’re about halfway through with this Sow Team 2 farrowing. 7 down, 6 to go. Come say hi!

“Pastured Pigs”

Raising pigs the way they were meant to live.

Mothers raising their piglets on green pasture. Fresh air, sunshine, room to roam, and plenty of ground to root and forage.

We try to interfere as little as possible and instead give our pigs the environment they need to express their natural instincts—grazing, rooting, exploring, nursing their young, and simply being pigs.

No concrete floors. No confinement barns. Just pigs on pasture, living with as little stress as we can possibly give them.

This is what “pastured pork” means to us.
