Hey San Diego, we just landed at Jensen’s in Point Loma. All 3 sauces are available on the shelves in the Asian food section, including the brand spanking new Pei Pei Chili Soy Sauce and of course, the Dan Dan Chili Sesame Sauce.

We are grateful for thoughtful partners who take the time to taste our sauces and make space for them.

If you’re nearby, go find us on the shelf.

Crackers, Brie, Dan Dan Spicy Sesame Sauce = our new adult s’more obsession this 🏕️ season.

Please don’t judge me. It’s just so easy and between running a business and raising two kids I have no brain cells left to ponder about what to make for dinner.

But it is.

Just udon, ground pork, and 2 spoonfuls of Dan Dan Sauce.

Mix and Done.

Boat days are better when it comes with good snacks, and when you catch fish!🎣

Some days I really don’t feel like cooking, but I still want something that tastes good.

This took like 10 minutes.
Just noodles, a spoon of sauce, and whatever I had in the fridge.

Two things that make this way easier:
– having a good sauce on hand
– keeping some pre-chopped herbs and leftovers ready to go

I used some ground turkey and celery stir fry I made earlier this week. I always make extra so I can use it like this.

Just mix everything together and that’s it.

I make this quick one pot wonder ramen lunch 3 times a week for a foos reason. It’s easy, satisfying, and completely guilty free!

I hope I said it enough times about what we make and what we sell. As a tiny teeny team of 1, sometimes 2, posting consistently on social media feels almost like a pipe dream, unless I let go of all expectations and just post what is readily available. I’m just trying to get the point across: we make something really awesome, and we want more people to try it and fall in love with it! I will continue to improve my talking skills but in the meantime, we make some kick ass olive oil based Chinese noodles sauces that taste amazing, is no brainer to use, and looks cute on your counter.

Hey ma, I'm in the papers! Read my interview with the SD Voyager if you're so inclined, where I tell stories of our humble beginnings and talk about the challenges we faced since we started. 😄

Today we’d like to introduce you to Helen Li. Hi Helen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story. The seed for Superlova! was planted when my husband Leo and I started an underground supper club out of our Arts District loft in Los Angeles 12 years ago. Remember when Leo went to China and staged under a Chinese dough master just to learn how to hand-pull noodles?
We came home and figured the best way to keep practicing was to open for service—so we set up the first-ever Lanzhou Lamian noodle stand in the streets of LA.
We called it LIVE NOODZ.

And remember when our oven went out at our house during a Christmas party?
We had ducks to roast—so Leo turned a coconut oil barrel in the backyard into a duck oven.
That prototype? It became the Smorgasburg beast that toasted 12 ducks at a time.

During our Chinese Laundry days, every time we tried to do things by the book—follow someone else’s blueprint—we struggled.
But when we did things just because they sparked joy?
Success found us. We weren’t chasing it.

We’ve been quiet these last few years.
Life hit hard. We lost someone very important to us. Grief took the front seat.
And through it all, we worked quietly—trying to keep something alive while figuring out how to begin again. But the lessons from Chinese Laundry, from LIVE NOODZ, from backyard duck ovens—they’ve been tugging at us.

Follow joy.
Trust the creative instinct.
Forge our own path.
Be confident in our own timeline.

There are days the setbacks stack up so hard it gives us anxiety.
We’ve questioned everything:
Maybe we shouldn’t have rebranded. Maybe this was too much.

But here’s the truth:
This rebrand isn’t just a business move.
It’s a declaration of healing.
Of choosing joy again.
Of reclaiming the instinct that started all of this.

We didn’t build Superlova to fit in.
We built it to follow the spark.

And we’re still following it.
