The author of four cookbooks including the award-winnning best seller, “Everyday Thai Cooking." Her most recent book "Everyday Chinese Cookbook: 101 Delicious Recipes from My Mother's Kitchen" was released in April 2016 as a number one new release on Amazon. She is the Culinary Ambassador to City of Hope and its “Super Foods Initiative“ and was able to take the message of the cancer-fighting potential of certain foods directly to the White House where she demonstrated at the annual Easter Egg Roll how to incorporate “super foods” into daily life. She co-hosted the 2003 national PBS Cooking Series “Double Happiness” with her late mother Leeann. A celebrity chef featured in both broadcast media and print, Katie has appeared numerous times on national television, including The Today Show, The Real, The Hallmark Channel and The Cooking Channel. In Los Angeles, Katie has appeared on KCBS, Good Day LA, KABC and KCAL. She has been featured in the pages of The Wall Street Journal, Glamour, Bon Appetit, Self Magazine, Real Simple, Family Circle and The Los Angeles Times. Katie recently competed as a chef contestant on Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen, Beat Bobby Flay and has served as a guest celebrity judge on Food Network’s Iron Chef America. She recently chronicled her late mother's remarkable story on PRI's The World on NPR. In February 2017, Katie was a featured chef at the Sundance Film Festival
