On this World Environment Day, we are reflecting on why we started Joyful Akers. Our mission isn't just to build a farm, but to nurture a balanced ecosystem where people, land, and pollinators can thrive together. 🐝✨

As we head to our 10 acres in Loudon later this month, we are committed to sustainable farming practices that protect this beautiful slice of East Tennessee for generations to come.

Building a sanctuary starts from the ground up—literally. 🐝🌾

A huge part of our vision for Joyful Akers is educational agritourism. Long before our 2027 launch, we’re focusing on our smallest future partners: the pollinators.

When we head to the land at the end of June, we’ll be mapping out our very first pollinator zones and native flower fields. We want to ensure that when you step onto our 10 acres, you are surrounded by a thriving, peaceful ecosystem.

Quick tip for your own backyard: Plant your flowers in clusters of three or more. It makes them much easier for bees to spot from above! 🌸

We believe that intentional connection starts with the senses. 🌾✨

As we prepare for our trip to the land at the end of June, we’re dreaming of the textures that will define Joyful Akers: the scent of fresh flowers, the warmth of the Tennessee sun, and the quiet peace of the river.

We’re heading to Loudon soon to check on the progress and start mapping out exactly where our first flower fields and cow-brushing stations will live. Stay tuned as we move from the dreaming stage to the doing stage! 🚜🤍
