Chicks & Hatching Eggs Available! 🐣
We are so excited to offer chicks and hatching eggs again this year!
This season we’re doing a fun Rainbow Mix- you can’t find birds like this at tractor supply! Plus, buying local means healthier stronger chicks since they don’t have to be shipped in to the farm stores, they are born right here in Louisa!
We sourced our chicken genetics from farms across the country so we can offer healthy, hardy, and friendly birds.
These chicks will be a colorful surprise — you may get a mix of:• frizzles• splash or blue coloring• copper necks• speckled and colorful egg layers
We are only hatching from the most beautiful, speckly, colorful eggs, so every morning your egg basket could be a rainbow of blues, greens, chocolates, and speckles.
🐥 Chicks: $6 each or $25 for 5🥚 Hatching eggs: $15 per dozen
Chicks are straight run.
We will only have a limited number available each hatch, so send us a message if you'd like to reserve some!
There’s nothing better than collecting a basket of colorful farm eggs every morning🌈🌷🌞🌳

The chicks we hatched out this spring are finally starting to lay! That means if you bought chicks from us, get your nesting boxes ready because fresh eggs are in your future 😎
Pullets (young hens) start off by laying cute tiny eggs. Over the next few weeks, the size will increase, the consistency will increase, and often times the coloring will brighten as well! We would love to see your beautiful eggs when the chicks start to lay! We already can’t wait for next season ✨🐣

Chicken of the week: stormy, the blue copper Marans! This French breed is known for their dark chocolate eggs- the eggs get lighter through their laying cycle, then they take a few days break and “recharge” their ink and lay darker! The egg here is on the lighter side of what our birds lay. Their eggs are a delicacy in France, known for being super rich!

💁🏼‍♀️personality: solid birds, good foragers, independent but friendly!

🩵feather color: 50% will be blue, 25% will be black, and 25% splash. They should have a beautiful copper ring around their necks!

🍫beautiful chocolate eggs! You can’t find true Marans at the feed stores. We sourced the best genetics money could buy to bring these gorgeous eggs to East KY!!

These eggs are more difficult to hatch as they have a thick dark shell. Eggs are $4 an egg and hatched chicks are $12 each straight run

How cute is this Olive Egger hatching? Can you believe a chick folds up in an egg like this? Chicks can usually hatch just fine on their own, but sometimes they need a little help. This cutie was “shrink wrapped” with her membranes dried around her so she couldn’t break free. I just love her big eye, taking in the outside world for the very first time!

Chicken of the Day: Pepper, the Silverudd Blue!

Egg Color:🩵💚Silverudd Blues, an Isbar, are the only purebred chicken that lays a green egg! Many have little brown or purple spots and look like mint chocolate chip ice cream

Personality👯‍♀️; these birds are so sweet and soulful. They stare right into your soul. They are excellent foragers and extremely predator wise.

Looks🪶🐣: these pretty birds have dark clean legs and come in blue, black, and splash. They are a lighter breed so consume less food but still give you good sized beautiful eggs, over 200 a year!

Right now we have these hens under an Opal Legbar, so the chicks will be “turquoise” eggers- shades of blues and greens some with speckles. We will offer purebred Silverudd Blues later in the season, when a breeding pen opens up! Turquoise eggers $3/egg or $7 a chick!

Chicken of the day: Miss Frizzle! This multigenerational olive egger lays Olive Green speckled eggs.

Egg Color: 💚🐣We have her under a Marans roo, so her offspring have a high chance of laying a deeper olive color and a small chance of laying a dark speckled brown.

💁🏼‍♀️Personality: This breed has heavy isbar heritage, making them sweet, soulful, and excellent foragers! Crossed with a Copper Marans, you can expect hardy and smart chicks.

🐤Chicks: half the chicks hatched from these eggs will be frizzle pattern on their feathers- so fun and funky! Most of the chicks will be blue (pictured) or splash. Some may be black, which are excellent for keeping hawks away!!

Hatching eggs $3 each, chicks $8 each! Message us to get on the waitlist for fun eggs!

It (kinda) feels like spring, and we know eggs at the grocery store are getting crazy. who wants to rely on the store anyway?
If you’re thinking about getting chicks this spring, we got you!!!!
Reasons to buy chicks from us instead of tractor supply:
1. Health!!! Our birds are bred for health and live outdoors eating organic feed and are not pumped full of pharmaceuticals. We invested in premium breeder stock genetics and want to share those genetics with you!
2. Less stress for birds: shipping is stressful, they are crammed together and dumped at tractor supply and are often stressed out. Ever purchase a chick to have it not thrive and pass away?! Lower your chances of that with local chicks! No childhood trauma here!
3. Beautiful birds and eggs! We have the most beautiful feather patterns and egg color that you just can’t get from the mystery bin that is the feed store.
4. Support local!♥️ we are a growing farm and your support helps us further invest into the farm to offer the community more products.
5. Ethics: did you know hatcheries grind up and kill male chickens as soon as they hatch? We don’t believe in that here and will give roosters a peaceful happy life until they are big enough to rehome as pets or to eat as food.

We will be offering day old chicks for pickup on the farm in Louisa! Message us if you are interested in coop ready 6 week old chicks, or in hatching eggs!!

Our chicks are sold straight run, meaning they will be 50/50 males and females!
Chicks will be available in March. Message us a date that you’d like chicks and we will work with you to set it up! We do require a 50% deposit now and the remainder at pickup.
If you would like us to grow the chicken out for you until 6 weeks, making them ready for the coop, there will be a $20 fee added to each price of the chick for each female and males will be sold for $5 flat. This is to cover the cost of feed and labor for the first 6 weeks, since half the birds will be males the females have to be more expensive to offset costs!

Let us know if you have any questions! Share with all your chicken loving friends!
