Missed y'all yesterday, but enjoyed spending part of the day with my son.

I will be back this coming Saturday and I'm coming loaded with all your favorite big leafy greens and itty bitty microgreens. Herbs galore and who knows what else.

See y'all in a week!

I know we are all anxious over this parasite possibly linked to commercially, large-scale grown lettuce. Well, while no farmer can make guarantees...most local, small-scale, ORGANIC farmers use safer, healthier, and gentler practices. Head out to your favorite local farmer's market and get to know the person growing your food. Ask them which produce in their booth they actually grow themselves, how they grow it, how they fertilize or manage pests, how they process. Etc. And if they have something you're unfamiliar with, ask for some tips on using it. You may find your favorite produce item is one you've never tasted before!

Here is a great and delicious (and easy) kale salad recipe. I will have limited bags of mixed leafy greens and a few bags of just kale for the market tomorrow.

The BEST kale salad recipe made with fresh, hearty kale, Parmesan cheese, toasted almonds, dried cranberries, and a lemon balsamic dressing.

Shhh, don't tell my doctor, but I just sprinkled a tiny bit of my fresh onion salt on my garden-fresh tomato and ... oh my, next level!

I'll have an assortment of herbed salts at the market next weekend (7/18) and I highly suggest the organic tomatoes from Floyd's View Farm for all your summery tomato needs.

BRB, gotta get back to my juicy, salty, oniony tomatoes. . .

as of now, the South End Community Market is on! I've got fresh micro greens and big ol leafy greens like kale & chard.

Other vendors will have all your favorite in-season veggies, tons of fresh-baked goods, and Beechmont Bakehouse has an amazing menu lined up.

See y'all 830-1230. Come early, buy lots, eat good!

TL/DR: Gonna be wet, parking lot delivery available, stock up on your healthy greens!

Looks like tomorrow is going to be wet. Very wet. Very, very wet. Depending on which forecast you look at. But wet, at minimum.

So I am slightly scaling back for tomorrow's set up. Here are your options:
Mixed Leafy Greens (two kinds of kale + chard)
Curly Leaf Kale
Fresh basil
Fresh rosemary

Microgreen options:
Regular
Spicy
Extra Spicy
Sunflower Shoots
Corn Shoots

Blackberry mint ri***ng sugar (or can be used as a regular sweetener in tea, lattes, etc.)
Blackberry Infused Vinaigrette

Best part is, if you call your order from the parking lot, I will run it out to you! You don't even have to get out of your car in the torrential downpour tomorrow. My cell is 727-415-1036. Due to the rain, I am not sure how my phone-credit-card processor will work since it's tap n pay, so cash is preferred tomorrow but we'll figure it out somehow either way.

See y'all tomorrow! If you're feeling adventurous, bring your canoe and paddle out to us at the South End Community Market, the BEST market in the city in the BEST park in the city!

Mother Nature decided she was gonna let some pumpkins I fed to the chickens last fall grow. And she started them early this year. I was NOT about to mansplain to Mother Nature how the Farmer's Almanac and folklore has outlined a specific planting guideline for our area...she knows better than I do.

And lo and behold, my first pumpkin came in on the same day my first mater got ripe.

Momma knows. We really outta listen to and take better care of her.

See ya Saturday for all your delicious microgreens AND big leafy greens needs. I've missed ya!

Weather is looking shaky for the weekend, but as long as it's not thund'rin' and lightn'in', I'll be at South End Community Market with fresh microgreens (five variety!) a variety of kale and chard, and a few other gourmet items to satisfy your inner foodie !

And after a weekend of hamburgers, hotdogs, CAKES (plural y'all)...we could all use some fresh, healthy, organic greens in our system. amiright or amiright?
