A special and amazing clinic on Emotional Fitness with super star sports psychologist Dr. Jenny Susser at Lucia Farm. The six riders and the gallery of auditors were challenged to work on being the best partner, leader, communicator they could be. Dawn Roth 3*Parelli Professional did a super job of supporting the riders with their horsrmanship skills. Thank you Dr. Jenny for sharing such wisdom and insight with all of us. SH5 ! !

I am a proud momma this afternoon! I went to see Major this afternoon. When I got there he had his blanket wrapped around his neck (i'm not proud of that because it was sort of my fault - I didn't clip down the back part). So the blanket was completely hanging down his front with the front straps being on his withers and he was standing on what was left of the blanket. He couldn't go forward. I have no idea how long he was like that. Anyway, I walked up to him, asked him to put his head down and with just a touch on his chest I asked him to back up just a step so I could undo the two straps. Then I asked him to back up completely off the shredded blanket and all was well! Thank you Parelli!

So who didn't grow up thinking Pat Parelli wasn't just the bomb? I've certainly kept some of his teachings in my back pocket for the last 20 years. Paula and I had the opportunity to help out Pat with some veterinarian stuff today and got some special private time with this iconic star. So come on out to Lucia Farm to see Pat for the next 2 days of a great clinic. It really was cool meeting him and having some one-on-one time. Off to Rutledge Farm and support Olympian Will Simpson tomorrow.

Back-to-Back Grants for Maryland Horse Rescue
Horses at risk, especially those in their golden years and those blind, are well off at the Maryland Horse Rescue Rehabilitation and Adoption. A Parelli Foundation grant in 2018 furthered their ability to partner with humans after training by 2* Licensed Parelli Professional Dru Lucia Roia. Volunteer Dr. Rachael Walsh said: “This grant was truly amazing for us! In addition to getting one of our horses adopted, it also helped us to establish a training regimen that can help us and our herd.” Read the rest at the link below!

Lucia Farm will also be hosting the Foundation and collecting new and gently used natural horsemanship equipment and educational materials for the Foundation's Lovingly Used Equipment Program throughout the weekend.
Those donating equipment and materials will be given a free ticket to Pat's demo on Friday evening!
