Murphy Family Farm A regenerative, family-owned farm, specializing in farm fresh eggs and grass fed beef.

Murphy Family Farm officially began in the spring of 2024 with the dream of creating a farm that can eventually supply a full year's diet from the land. We believe in a regenerative agriculture philosophy whereby we re-establish a relationship with the land; the land heals and eventually works as a full ecosystem to be productive again. We began our farming work by rotationally grazing Dexter cattle followed close behind with our flock of 300 hens who are fed with organic, non-GMO, no soy feed. This process assists with re-building soil fertility out here in West Texas which typically gets little rainfall. While many believe the best thing for land is to remove humans entirely from the farming process, we believe we can steward the land to its best, most productive self by focusing on diversity over single crop production. We have higher standards than organic certification; we are a natural ecosystem that allows the land, animals, and climate to all work together with the eventual goal of having no external inputs.

Did you know…?

Eggs are laid with a natural protective layer called the bloom, which seals them and keeps the inside safe from bacteria. This bloom allows the eggs to sit at room temp for up to 2 weeks.

In order to sell to grocery stores or restaurants, the eggs must be washed and sanitized. Because the process of washing, scrubbing, and sanitizing removes the bloom, the eggs must then be refrigerated.

Our new egg washer speeds up the scrubbing process (which was previously done one egg at a time with rag and hand…)

Sean, born and raised in Texas and a Texas Tech alumnus, has a passion for coaching tennis, baking, and regenerative farming, leading all the labor, projects, renovations and improvements around the farm.
Natalie, also a Texas Tech alumnus, has a PhD in Clinical Psychology and works as a licensed provider and Assistant Professor.
