🍓 Let’s talk chocolate-covered strawberries…

Specifically, why do I charge $30 per dozen? Let’s get a little behind-the-scenes.

Yesterday, I bought 4 pounds of strawberries from the grocery store. Here’s how they broke down:

🍓 About 12 strawberries were large and beautiful enough to dip and confidently sell.
🍓 About 1 pound was too small for chocolate-covered strawberries, so they’ll be enjoyed at home.
🍓 About 1 pound was overripe, so I cut them up and froze them to use later in homemade strawberry jam.
🍓 And over a pound had to be thrown away because they were unusable.

When you purchase chocolate-covered strawberries from a small business, you’re not just paying for chocolate and strawberries. You’re paying for the time spent hand-selecting the best fruit, the ingredients, the packaging, and unfortunately, the product that doesn’t make the cut.

I want every order that leaves my kitchen to be something I’d be proud to serve my own family. 💕

To my fellow bakers and treat makers: where are y’all finding consistently large, beautiful strawberries? I’d love any recommendations! 🍓🤍

I wanted to give y’all a little update on the bakery and my upcoming availability.

If you’re new here, hi! 👋 I’m so glad you’re here! One thing you’ll quickly learn is that my bakery schedule is a little chaotic. 😂

I work full-time outside of the bakery, and my job requires quite a bit of travel. Starting Monday, July 13, I’ll only be accepting weekend orders because I’ll be traveling for 9 straight weeks. ✈️

And then comes the fun part… 🤍 Mitchell and I are getting married! 👰🤵 It’s a destination wedding, followed by our honeymoon in Thailand. 🌴 So the bakery will be taking a little break for a few weeks, but I’ll share more about that as we get closer.

This little bakery started as a hobby, and I never imagined so many of you would trust me with your birthdays, celebrations, and special moments. Your support truly means the world to me.

Thank you for being patient with my crazy schedule and for continuing to support Sparkle & Sprinkles by Sam. I can’t wait to bake for you whenever I’m home! 🧁💕
