Wanting our wines to have a strong sense of place with minimal intervention we are getting back to the basics. Reclaiming traditions of ancient winemakers we use amphorae, large clay vessels, for fermentation & aging of our Nor’Easter & Rosé (coming soon). Our are handmade in Oregon and true works of art.

Nor’Easter 2023 is our estate red blend & made solely from our Nor’Easter vineyard. Comprised of 40% Sangiovese, 40% Cabernet Franc, & 20% Cabernet Sauvignon then aged for 12 months in neutral French oak barrique; it’s nicely balanced & drinks similar to a Super Tuscan.

Cheers!!

Our newest vineyard- planted in 2024- consists of 100% Syrah. It’s oriented to the southwest to allow for easier wind passage through the vine rows & aptly name Sou’Wester. The grapes produced here will eventually make up the Syrah portion of our Sou’Wester Red Blend.

Sou’Wester 2023 is our take on a Rhône-style red blend. Born from a love of the wines in this region of France and the desire to use Washington grown fruit to create our own interpretation. The 2023 blend is 50% Syrah & 50% Mourvèdre, both from Sunland Vineyard in Yakima.

Cheers!!

Southwester- a strong wind from the southwest.

We have 3 estate vineyards. The Southerly Bench is 2.3-acres of head trained Grenache Noir. The vines are dry farmed, making them reach deep & produce well developed fruit.

We are using the Grenache Noir to produce a direct-pressed rosé & a red wine aged in combination of neutral oak, large format barrels, & Oregon oak.

Best enjoyed decanted & with a great view!

Meet our wine maker- Sam Hutchens. With strong family ties and a deep history in the Columbia River Gorge, Sam relocated to the area in 2022 with the intention of making wine from its incredible array of grapes and microclimates. A seasoned fermentationist, he has worked in the industry for 12 years, spending time as a winemaker, brewer, and cider maker. With a strong belief that wine should first and foremost be delicious, Sam crafts our wines with thoughtful intention, creating balanced blends that sit at the intersection of tradition and innovation.
