CS Lewis poses a great trilemma challenge: "a man who claimed the things Jesus claimed was either a liar, a lunatic, or Lord." In the video I pose two, but Mr. Lewis is right.

The promise of "never tasting death" is great news - I'm signed up! I hope you are too, or soon will be.

Check out this video till the end - pretty stark to see those red cows against some very green grass.

We will have some steers available in the next 4 weeks - grass fed and all on the daily move program.

Crazy to think that Hadlee was wearing shorts when she moved the cows with her dad a couple of weeks ago…..or at least she was supervising.
Ferdinand is ready for June to get here - we’ve pulled him and the weaned bull calves out of the herd.

Shifting gears here - I had a great conversation with a gentleman who is raising Devon's in Alabama and he dropped a powerful nugget....to paraphrase "there are a lot of places to get negativity, so it's good to provide positivity whenever possible - don't get bogged down in the negative messaging"
There is nothing more positive than knowing beyond any doubt that God is in control, His will is being done, and Christ's blood covers all of my shortcomings - past, present, and future. And, because of that, I'll be in heaven before I know it.
I want this adventure to be about sharing our faith as much or more than our efforts to be better stewards of His Creation.
Lord willing, this is the first of many videos on our new YouTube channel - check it out at the link below.

The name Amazing Graze is intended to illustrate the importance of our Faith first, and that bleeds over into every other aspect of our life - including cows...

A few days ago Matthew goes home for lunch and decides to check on the cows on the way back to work. One of the 1st-calf heifers is laying on her side so he checks her out and sure enough hoofs are coming out.
He calls me and sends me pictures of the hoofs and we could tell it was upside down and breech (fortunately the hind legs were coming out first versus a true breech).
I was out of town and couldn't help. Getting the heifer in a barn for a vet wasn't an option.
I asked Matthew if he had gloves - he got some and didn't hesitate to do what had to be done, in his work clothes, which no one would mistake for calf-pulling clothes. I was on the other end of the phone and I sure was happy when I heard him say she was out - a new heifer calf.
The 1st-calf heifer got up and started doing her thing - being a great Red Devon momma.
The calf definitely would have died - momma may have died.
Matthew had never done that before. He handled it like a champ, and Lord-willing, that heifer will be around to produce many calves down the road.

Following up to the previous post where the cattle were patiently waiting while I rambled on. I love watching these Devon’s move to a new paddock - daily therapy….even with that background noise lol

It’s hard to see here, but the background to this pasture use to be several thousand of acres of forest. Not saying that harvesting timber and converting to some other productive land is a terrible thing, but I sure as heck don’t think solar is the answer….to anything.

Cold snap and the cows are feeling froggy.

I made that left turn harder than I should have….I’ll probably do that again somewhere down the road🤣
