If you’ve ever wondered who keeps me going through it all, meet Abbey. 🐾💛

You see a lot of chickens, flowers, and farm life around here, but this girl is my rock. My best friend. My baby girl.

She has my back on the good days, the hard days, and everything in between.

There’s something pretty special about being loved by a dog who just knows you. 💛

I hope you have someone who always has your back, too.

Have a great week, friends.
Keep blooming, y’all. 🌿🌼

Who’s your “Abbey”? Tell me in the comments. 🐾

🦖🐔 JURASSIC PECK: VEGETABLE EXTINCTION EVENT 🐔🦖

The late-summer garden has officially crossed over from “lush and productive” to full chicken jungle. 🌿😂

The cucumbers are hiding.
The eggplants are hanging on for dear life.
The vines have taken over.
And the chickens?

They have entered the jungle like they own the place.

At this point, I’m not sure whether I planted a garden for us… or accidentally created an all-you-can-eat adventure park for the flock. 😂

Welcome to Jurassic Peck, where no vegetable is truly safe and every chicken believes she is the apex predator.

Just another perfectly normal day at Hoppy Hills Farm. 🐔🌿🍆🥒

Sometimes peace looks like this. 🤎🐔

After Joy had a little scare this morning, she came inside with me for some quiet time and ended up staying curled up beside me for nearly two hours. But the truth is, I think she gives me just as much comfort as I give her.

When I’m home, Joy Chicken is one of my little pockets of peace. We settle in, get into our quiet cuddle rhythm, and for a little while, the whole world just gets softer.

I love my Joy Chicken. 🐔❤️

What do you call a temporarily blind girl on canning day? 🥒😂

Apparently… a dill-lightful pickle maker with a court-appointed safety supervisor.

Special thanks to my sister, who spent canning day making sure I didn’t chop off a finger, burn the house down, or somehow turn the canner into an explosive device. 😂

My neurological issues and vision pathways may currently be under investigation, but apparently the cucumbers did not get the memo. The pickles still needed pickling.

So here we are: homemade dill pickles, dilly beans, entirely too much garlic, an unreasonable amount of dill, and one very tired sister keeping the operation OSHA-adjacent. 🥒🌿😂

(All jokes made with love and genuine respect for those who live with blindness or ongoing vision impairment every day. ❤️)

We are DEEP in our zinnia era this summer… and apparently they’ve started twirling about it. 😂🌸✨

It’s a full-on zinnia party over here at Hoppy Hills Farm, and I am not mad about it. 💃🌼

This handsome little guy followed me around the garden all evening and just didn’t seem ready to part ways. 🦋💛 He fluttered from place to place right alongside me, and for a little while, it felt like I had my own tiny garden companion. Sometimes nature gives you the sweetest little gifts when you need them most. 🌻✨

Sometimes, no matter how old you are, you still just want your mom. ❤️

Yesterday she helped me harvest the garden because my vision hasn’t been cooperating lately. And here’s the funny part… my mom hates dirt. 😂 She’ll water my plants when I’m traveling, but getting out there and digging in the garden is definitely not her jam.

But yesterday, she conquered her fear of dirt just because she knew I needed a little help. 🥹🌻 That’s love.

So thankful for you, Mom. ❤️
