🤍 A Little Heartbreak, a Little Healing, and a Very Special Introduction 🐔🌸
The past few weeks have been challenging, to say the least. There have been some difficult moments, unexpected changes, and more tears than I’d care to admit.
A few weeks ago, we lost three of our four sweet little chickens to a fox. 💔 I affectionately called them my “seagulls” because their beaks and coloring reminded me of seagulls.
We had been waiting to name them until they were a little older and easier to distinguish from one another. Sadly, we never got that opportunity with three of them.
Then, shortly afterward, the company I worked for made the decision to downsize, and I was laid off. With one thing compounding another, I found myself needing a little time to breathe, process, and simply find my footing again.
I actually recorded this video a few weeks ago, but every time I tried to share it, I couldn’t quite get through it without crying.
Through it all, I’ve taken our last little “seagull” under my wing. She’s become especially precious to me, and I knew it was time she had a beautiful name of her very own.

She’s a tiny little soul with a big personality, and our sweet conversation in this video makes me smile every time.
Life doesn’t always give us the seasons we expect. Sometimes we’re simply doing our best to weather the storms while holding tightly to the little things that bring us joy.
And sometimes, that joy comes with feathers, a funny little beak, and a beautiful name. ❤️
