Best chicken dish EVER!!
Northern-Style Korean Jjimdak
🧡 Ingredients
2 lbs chicken drumsticks
6 tbsp sesame oil
6 tbsp soy sauce
Garlic chives (buchu)
-For the dipping sauce
4 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp vinegar
4 tbsp oligo syrup (corn syrup / honey)
4 tbsp gochugaru
2 tbsp minced garlic
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp Korean mustard (yeon-gyeoja)
A pinch of black pepper
💙 Directions
1. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
2. Mix sesame oil and soy sauce in a 1:1 ratio, then coat the chicken evenly.
3. Fill a steamer with enough water and add a splash of cooking wine.
4. Steam the chicken over medium heat for 30 minutes.
5. Brush the chicken again with the sesame oil soy sauce mixture.
6. Steam for another 30 minutes.
7. Add more water if needed to prevent the pot from drying out.
8. Meanwhile, mix all the sauce ingredients together.
9. Place the garlic chives on top of the chicken and steam for about 3 more minutes.
10. Serve the chicken with chives on top, and dip into the sauce.
