Do you know what it feels like to one moment wonder what the hell you’ve done and the next realize that it was all worth it? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel like that, well, a lot. But as I was planting fall veggies today, I looked around me and thought, “Hot damn. I’m lucky.” 👩🏻‍🌾

And then I realized Pip the duck has a fu**ed up eye and went inside to make her a bathtub bed for the night. Life be life’n. 🦆

Thought about my grandad today. One of the few times I was smart enough to have a conversation with him, I told him I was having trouble sleeping and asked if he had ever had trouble sleeping when he was younger (at the time, I was working on my PhD and stressed and probably lost and sad).

He said no. Because he got up every day and worked hard. So, he slept hard.

Today I got up at 4:45, worked my job job, then shoveled 1,600 pounds of dirt. It wasn’t glamorous. Or comfortable. Or much of anything but… hard.

But I did what I needed to… and if this puppy 🐶 lets me, I’m going to sleep goooooooood.

This is my second season farming. 👩🏻‍🌾 I’m still very bad at it. *But* the goats haven’t eaten my whole crop, so I’m getting to learn a lot about how I planted late, planted wrong, needed a soil test, and why everyone uses rows.

As a recovering fixed mindset person and someone who struggles with feeling like I’m too much, I sometimes have to push back on my mind whispering to me, “Wow, you should have done better. You’re kind of a failure. People probably look at you and laugh or scoff.”

In these moments, it’s best to feel with your heart and see how far you’ve come. ❤️

And for someone who never farmed before, never had livestock before, lived in the city until two years ago, and grieves pretty much everyday… this maybe is actually a pretty damn good job. 🤠

Hey, y’all! 👋🏻 While we’ve got a long way to go with our fruit game 🍓🫐, we *do* have fresh duck eggs for sale! 🥚

Duck eggs are higher in protein, creamier, but still taste largely the same as chicken eggs. $5 for 6 (in line with local prices for store bought “cage free” eggs). Our ducks are healthy, happy, and free range! 🦆

Delivery this week in Madison, Athens (Tuesday) and Atlanta (Wednesday). We also have some squash you can add to your order 👩🏻‍🌾
