Today's baking project is to try out a sample of a potential new hard white wheat variety for next year! Its hard to believe that the new crop will go in the ground in the next couple weeks, so I'm getting ready! I'm looking for a sweeter, creamier flavor in the hard white variety for next year and I think I have a great option based on how the kids are snatching up these buns! This variety won't be harvested until July, but I have plenty of last year's crop available if you are looking for flour milled after you order! Just send me a DM!

Bagels are the bread item of choice in our house! We eat them for breakfast, but also use them for sandwiches. Normally someone steals one fresh out of the oven and eats it plain before I even get them sliced and put away! It takes a batch of two to get used to shaping and boiling them, but they are faster than bread because they need less time to rise. We love them with hard red wheat, but they are delicious with hard white wheat as well

Hello, my name is Andrea and I am excited to share my journey with milling wheat!

I grew up in Mahomet, IL and still live there with my husband, Kurtis, and 3 boys, Kaleb, Luke and Ryan. I work on the family farm with my dad and brothers growing a variety of commodity and specialty corn and soybeans. In early 2025, I discovered the health benefits and tastiness of home-milled bread items and started to integrate it consistently into our diet. When I stuck with it and the family started baking as well, I was fortunate to be able to grow some on a small field for ourselves and with plenty left over to start selling as well!
